I would like to upgrade my stock HID lights to 6000k bulbs. Will the original ballast for the HID's work okay with the brighter bulb? I was originally looking at getting 8000k but the shop told me that I needed to change out the ballast to get them to work.

 

my understanding from reading all the lastest talk on HID is that you can get 6000k bulb for the stock set up...

 

thanks will, I figure if I have to pull off the lights what a better time to change the bulbs. I should have an answer for you about the shipping in about 10 minutes.

That's what I was looking at. The PIAA's are like $100 more. This other company Megatec makes 7500k bulbs really cheap, but I have never heard of them. BTW they do charge to ship here, still waiting for the estimate. I am asking them for surface shipping which will be alot cheaper and only takes 2 more days extra tops. PM you when I get the answer.

 

6000K is not brighter than 4300k. the higher the number the more blue and dim it is. the closer without going under 4300k is going to be your brightest and whiteess
