D4S XenonDepot HID Bulb (Did I get rip off?)
I just purchased a set of D4S XenonDepot HID Bulb, the packaging was definitely what I expected (look at the images). The bulbs should be made in Japan according a thread posted by XenonDepot... mine is made from Korea. I know I shouldn't judge the book by its cover but this does not look like $60 per bulb… Please shed some light on me!@!

it says manufactured in German but made in Korea?
"Direct Replacement for your OEM HID D4S application.XenonDepot HID D4S bulbs are manufactured from German made Philips UV quartz glass which helps provide more light on the road as well as the highest level of resistance to vibrations, extremes of temperature, and risks of explosion. XenonDepot HID D4S bulbs are designed to work with any D4S style ballast and headlight. XenonDepot D4S HID bulbs come with a one year warranty that is handled directly through us."

I really doubt they are really made in Japan. China is the world capital of HID kits and bulbs. It may not be fully 100% made in China, but somewhere in the process, I'm sure China is involved.

I saw the Garax people had and the box the came with it looks pretty luxury but when I look at the xenondepot HID package... Looks like some 20 bucks HID that were made in China. Can someone post a pic of your Xenondepot package from kbcarstuff.com... Pretty sure we had a lot of users with Xenondepot HIDs

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the feedback and I hope to answer some of your questions.
The XenonDepot HID bulbs are not made in Germany only the UV quartz glass is which is made by Philips. and the base is made in Korea as it states on the bulb.
Only the Philips D4S HID bulbs are made in Germany.
As for the made in Japan post, that is from a few years ago and since than we have upgraded our XenonDepot HID bulbs.
Hope this clears some of the questions you had.

For me, I have Philips Ultinon 6000K since they have the best lumen output for the color for D4S. I also have the Xenon Depot 6500K for HID projector fogs.

This is to be expected because you go higher in temperature, the lumen's output drops. Since you have 8000, it''s no surprise the output is lacking, not to mention it's worse if you count rain. If you stick with 6000, you would get a balance between output/lumens.

that was the issue i had. when i bought the car it had some cheap 8k bulbs in it and the light output was crap. so i bought the xenon depot 5k to get as close back to stock temp as i could. then just did some 3k for the fogs
