when you solder your wires make sure you use the heat shrink and keep that area secure... it can easily break free again if your soldering skills are not up to par, the shop i went to get my suspension done damaged mine, couldnt solder it back since it was right where the sensor was itself and he had to replace it with a 160$ part.

FYI...on my old car ('92 Acura Legend) a shop I no longer use was doing a brake job and somehow cut my ABS wire in half! I didn't notice it until I started to drive and seen the lights on the dash. I went back and they said they didn't do it but still offered to solder the wires. It did NOT work! The wires were soldered perfectly and matching wire to wire; all shrink wrapped. Re-set computer and the light still showed up...after arguing and getting no where I wound up eating the cost of a new ABS sensor kit (w/wire) - $350 later. Never went back there again. I asked a different shop as to why this still didn't work and he mentioned it had to do with the Ohms (resistance) in the circuit that soldering a once severed wire back together would not work. I don't know electrical but all I know is that it still didn't work and had to buy a new kit. Make sure that your ABS is working properly before you leave that shop! GL!

Different types of solder have different resistance, they are not created equally for flux (cleaning power) and lead or its replacement for strength.

After cutting and soldering the wires back which did not seem bad in the first place . It only had a slight notch right where the wire meets the sensor.
I put it all back together and drove a few 100 KM to see if the light would go away. As it came on while on the highway in stop and go traffic. Also before the light came on it would blip the abs when just about at a full stop causing the pedal to go soft.

So i took it apart again last night with the car on the ground and the wheel on.
It is one 10mm bolt holding it and easy to get to with the tire turned out.
undid the brackets holding the wire and looked at the sensor.

It has a small gasket that seals it . Mine seems to have ripped and caused the sensor to be off center and not pick up the hub spinning.
So i cleaned it , pulled off the ripped part of the gasket . Added brake lube to the sensor to seal it and slowly twisted it back and forth as i inserted it .
Bolted back in and reversed for 30 feet with the brake on , then drove forward 50 feet with brake on as the ecu seems to be testing it ( may not be needed) .
Then drove away at normal speed and within 40 feet the lights turned off .

So , when removing the sensor make sure you lube the rubber O ring and twist it to put it back or it will cut it and no longer work. I would not be surprised it the person above had this happen also and the sensor was still good.
