What does it go for? and what added sensors do you need to get if any?
Well, the first thing that you need is a local and AVAILABLE HKS PRO dealer/tuner. (that way you won't be in the situation I'm in now, lol) Then you'll need to buy the ECU ($1200-$1500), since yours is non-VVT-i, I'm not sure if you would buy a PnP harness ($275-$350) like I did, or if you would just hard wire it in? Then you need the IAT and Boost Sensor with their respective harnesses. ($375-$450).Then there is the HKS Knock Amp ($1200-$1500 including the wideband o2 and harness) This is nice because of the auto tune and on the fly tune. (if you HAVE to put in a lower octane fuel or something like that it will compensate automatically for you) Lastly, there is the HKS F-CON navigator($325-$350). This is not a required piece, but it's kinda cool because it's like the Power FC commander without the abillity to tune. It give you a display of boost, a/f, MAF/MAP voltage etc . . .and I believe that it allows you to switch between preset tune maps. And when it is all done, you need that PRO dealer/tuner to install it all. Mine is BASICALLY PnP, so I was quoted about $1500 for install and tune. On the high side, that's about $5300 for all the parts and install/tune. Yeah, it hurts but for what you get. I've dealt with the AEM, I don't know how much it has changed in the last couple of years, but I didn't like it. Too many bugs and quirks for me. I'd rathe have something that just works. Hope that helps, Ryan

Hey slvr, so did you delete the jet pump in order to have a return line? If that set up just returning fuel to the jet pump side of the pump, or is the return line just dumping back into the tank?

wow, thanx for the quick detailed reply. So you have to buy the knock amp with the ecu? Is it required or just recommended that you buy it with the ecu.?

I used the JPK because I am using a return line and my FPR is up front now instead of in the tank. The JPK is just dumping back in to the tank. The siphon hose is also attached to the JPK so that I can use the gas on other side of the tank. Basically all the JPK does is eliminate that plastic piece and the in tank FPR.

You don't have to buy the knock amp, it is not "required" for the Vpro to work. but it does make things easier. Definately recommended.

well, today i got the cooling fans installed, all the unused vaccum/coolant lines are now capped and clamped. the lines for the blowoff valves and the boost controller and the HKS map sensor are done. checked the fuel system for leaks. mounted my coolant overflow tank, modified the radiator stay brackets (because the TT supra radiator is NOT a direct replacement). still have a ways to go yet. i had to modify my downpipe slightly, so that has to be rewelded. once that is done, i can put on the turbo for the last time. I got a little bored today, so while i was at the parts store, i bought some 3M tape and some "carbon fiber" vinyl wrap. heres what happened:

It actually looks pretty realistic from a distance, guess I had to do something to appeal to the ricer in me. lol. I know on the back corners of the trim it kind of folded up on me, I think that im gonna try a razor blade and flatten it out.

BTW guys that are considering this swap. The harness is only easily plugged in if the car is a 98-00 and some early mid year 01's. Mid year 01 to 05 cars have a completely different ecu and uses a different plug. In that case, you'll have a lotta fun rewiring...trust me I know
wow this is good to know and man your running out of time installing all that carbon fiber lol

try using a heat gun or a hair dryer.

theres also carbon fiber fabric. i think that would stretch better/easier.

Well, this is it. Tomorrow is the BIG day. I worked my butt off all day today and got all the rest of the little things done. I just need to get to an exhaust shop and get the wastegate pipe rewelded. (I didn't line it up 100% the first time so I cut and remade it.) Then I can reinstall the turbo kit and. . . . START IT UP!!!!!

until then, here's some pics of the engine bay and front bumper that I cut up real good. lol

Question, will the stock gte ecu plug in just fine? You are still going to run it on the stock ECU for now right?

I'm wondering as for right now I'd want to swap in a direct swap, oem turbines, intercooler and all.
