All you have to do is put the DVD in the tray and close the door. The unit will automatically update itself. Very simple.

Has the 2004 edition NAV Update come out yet? I know the 2003 version came out around this time last year.

Been holding out for it. I have a HD based NAV unit, I'm sure updates are different on these (vs DVD based).

DVD based nav has released a 2004 update, I believe the HD based nav is still using the 2003 version.

Kingloose,
I have an 01 GS430 with Nav and just upgraded it with the 04 DVD update. Start your car, go to your trunk, open the DVD drive by removing the velcroed cover. Then slide the drive cover to open and hit the eject button. Then put the disc in and close the door, the update will begin. Make sure you close the door for the update to begin. Leave the car on whlle it updates, should take around a minute, then you are ready and will be at the warning disclaimer menu. The rest is history my friend. The dealership is full of you know what! Good luck and enjoy your updated Nav

As far as I know, just updated addresses and POIs. No calendar that I am aware of, but I haven't looked around with the Nav much since my car has been in the body shop this week. I'll check it out, but I think only updated addresses and POIs were in this DVD update.

ok, no 1/32 zoom in my car nor do I have a calendar. Just updated POIs & streets with the update. The 05 models should have the 04 update, but I am not sure. Hope this helps everyone.
