What does the Gen 4 10.1 Nav Update disc do??

Does this only update the maps or does it change any of the features on the unit???

The disc updates the onboard maps. There is a short install sequence after the update disk is installed, but there are no changes to the features on my GS430's navigation or display.

Rip off. I've seen Garmin 1490's with lifetime map updates and traffic for less than that which seem to just "work better" from the get go.
