Default master remote keys

Both master remote Key dissapeared. and i lost my valet key a long time ago. Wallet key is locked inside my car glove box. I've been reading alot of post regarding key programming and i read that i'll need at least one master key to program a new key. NOw that i dont have non of them, do i really need to pay 2g's for the ecm (immobilizer) and buy two new keys from the dealer? I already ordered a new key.. Is it true that i wont be able to get my new key progrommed to work w/o an original master remote key?? Please help!!!

This sucks! When I programmed a key I bought, you need the master remote key. Sorry couldn't help or answer your question, but seems like you have to go to the dealer, unless someone else can answer this topic. Good luck Tomm

Yes, once you lost your remote master key, you will have to get your ECM replaced by the dealership for security reasons. However, you might not need to pay the full price for the ECM. I believe Lexus Customer Service allows (1) goodwill replacement for the ECM whenever the owner loses all of his/her keys. You can get in touch with the Lexus CS Center at 1-800-255-3987, and/or your local dealership about this goodwill ECM replacement.

FYI, here's a thread discussing the goodwill ECM replacement:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...threadid=48804

You will need to have your remote master key previously programmed to the immobilizer system before activating the other valet keys. Hope this helps.

A wallet key only locks/unlocks the car and trunk, and so doesn't work with the ignition.

Well like Lexusk8 said you will have to rely on the goodwill exchange for some help as those ECU's are big bucks.....

Guys thanks for all your kind words. This really sucks. I flip thru my whole house and garage and no luck finding a damm key. My only hope right now is to have Triple AAA slim jim and open my door and get the wallet key from my glove box. To answer the question regarding the wallet key. The wallet key it works like another master key, and it does also start the car. All you need to do is put in the wallet key in the ignition and turn to on position, then take the wallet key holder (black plastic size of a credit card) find the arrow and point it to the car ignition and wait about 10 seconds and crank start the car with the wallet key. Right now, i'll wait for another two days, and hopefully my keys will appear somewhere.

Tommy

That bites big time. I hope you find one of those keys laying around. I'd die if I lost one.

I have mine with me all the time and my roomie has the spare. My sister on the other side of the city has the valet key. That way, someone can always bring me a key if something goes wrong.
