Default Chrome Shift Trim Solution

Hey guys I was surfing over at Is300.net and I saw a place that chromes plastic in texas. All you have to do is send them the ring and they will spray it with a chrome paint. From the looks of there website it lokks like it will the answer. They also do color chrome for custom applcations. I think they will come in handy for some other projects. Monday im going to the dealer to buy a Trim ring and I will send it to them to see how good of a job they will do. I will post pics when it arrives. Maybe we can get a group buy going with Steve and them. Well heres the URL if any one wants to see what im talking about http://www.thechromedome.com/ I hope it looks good

don't think they can chrome the existing bezel.
The existing bezel is soft plastic, so the chrome paint may not adhese well enough.

I'd recommend being a bit restrained on this and let a couple of individuals (maybe you?) try it out first before any group purchase. GB must be through one of our CL vendors as mentioned above.

I seem to recall some members trying this in the past and the chrome cracking because of the material of the bezel.

Anybody call them to see how much it would be? I'm sure they will need to see the bezel in order to give an accurate quote...so maybe one of Texas members could swing one by and get more info for all of us.

Default I called and.....

I gave ChromeDome a call and it sounds as if they are in the process of relocating and will be down until the end of February. They requested that I send them a digital pict of the piece and also said that their chroming process is capable of chroming rubberized plastics and that the coating is flexible. I will pass along more info I as I receive it. Now time to take the photo .

Default Thanks

Thanks for the photos! I already photographed my unchromed piece with a ruler in the shot . Wanted to let them know actual size for a a more accurate price quote. I also let them know that I would be willing to bring the part over to them if that would help. I will pass the photos on to them if they need more clarifications via email. I will keep everyone posted as I hear back from them. I would encourage everyone to be patient because they are in the middle of packing up their shop and are currently out of production.

I'm curious. Is the chrome just on top where it is visible or is it completely chromed? If the former, where exactly does it stop?
