BLW, thanks for the legwork. I just e-mailed them to indicate interest and suggested they log onto CL and search for "bezel". I tried it and got 7+ pages of mostly "chrome shift bezel" threads - probably hundreds of posts. Maybe that'll get their attention for when someone contacts them regarding a possible group buy. Haven't seen hide nor hair of you for eons - you doin' ok?

I thank you for finding these guys. I have felt like I hijacked your thread by posting so much on it. Did you ever buy the plastic bezel from your Lexus dealer? If so, did you send it to Chrome Dome? I called a Dallas Lexus dealer and they did not have the non chrome bezel in stock, would have to make a special order to get me one.

Hey garnet92
I remembered a lot of interest a half year back in this piece being chromed. I think our cars definitley look better with it chromed. I know another Lexus owner had sent them an email about chroming when I visited them this week.

I have been pretty much an occasional lurker to CL lately. More pressing matters at hand for me lately. It is good to hear from you and I hope things are OK with you.

If all goes well, and if a GB is created, I would like to partake in it. This crome bezel thing has been talked about for a very long time, its good to see that some results. Thanks for the the legwork.

I have never heard back from these guys. I called them on wednesday as per their request and only received their answering machine. I left them a message to call me back and have received no reply from them. I called them again, right before posting this, and again the answering machine. They have never responded to my emails. I am getting the feeling that these guys are having hard times. I will keep trying, but I would not be holding my breath on this one.

Garnet92, did you ever get any response from them after your email? Has anyone else tried to communicate with them and if so did you get a response from them?

Unhappy No response, BLW

Nope - got no reply from them. I always wonder about "businesses" who ignore an opportunity to increase sales - who get inquiries and don't respond. Yet the owner is probably complaining about how the business isn't doing as well as he'd like. This is a pet peeve of mine - businesses advertise, offer specials, do mailings, etc. to generate new inquiries yet ignore them when someone makes contact.

I assume that these guys didn't invent the process so there must be some other distributor somewhere else who might be more interested. How 'bout a google search on some of the terms appearing in whatever sales literature you were given (if any). It's still worth investigating if we can find another source.

I have contacted them and got a very cocky response. He told me that they wouldnt do my single peice that it would slow down his other buissnes in the shop. He said wait till CL had a group buy and join it. He must think that we will get a group buy going for free. First he has to become an approved vendor. In return he has to pay some fees which he will not. So im thinking that this is a no go. No im not sure what is involved in becomeing an approved vendor. DAVEGS4 can you chime in on this on becoming a vendor on CL.

This looks like the link to the distributor for the process that they are using:

http://www.alsacorp.com/ChromeFX.html

They look to be located in Vernon,CA.

There looks to be a couple of other chroming processes that are similiar. FantaChrome (Ausralia and possible the precursor to ChromeFX, since hits go back to Alsa Corp here in the US) and Cosmichrome in Cleveland,Ohio (Gold Touch Inc) http://www.goldtouchinc.com/schrome.html

I will continue to try to get The ChromeDome to plate my piece. Some other folks who are close to these distributors may want to contact them.
