Driver window switches loose

Default Driver window switches loose

Hello, I have a 98 GS400 and the drivers side switches for the window are loose. Anyone know how to fix it? I will attach a video.

This is what the switch looks like sans trim panel. The rockers all have their own pivot point . And they are designed to keep water or soda or whatever from getting into the main body. So you’ve probably got a broken tab or something that is allowing the entire housing to move when the rocker is moved. Regardless of what has malfunctioned, the only solution is to replace the master switch. Cheap Chinese copies are available but they are flimsy. So you could pick up a used one, or go all out for an OE replacement. It’s not difficult to replace it, if you pull the door panel off. There is some foam insulation surrounding it that hides the mounting screws so just remove it from the start, so u can see them and not have any trouble removing the screws.
Brittle plastic has been the root cause behind many of the issues these cars have as they get older.


I found the tan broken when mine started to feel different.
