Android Auto?
When you say "spot on" are you referring to miles or time of arrival or both?
Also, if you trust the Lexus Navigation why do you always check it with Google Maps? Seems like a lot of hassle for no reason.
Lastly, are you saying that Google Maps does a better job of avoiding traffic?
Lexus is probably not going to retro android anytime soon. Google/Waze has the superiority of a better repository of user data to navigate to the best route and reflection of the current map data, far better then any dedicated consumer gps.
Now the big things in regards to Lexus vs a phone/cP/AA is that your car will probably have better reception then most phones.and its integrated into the dashboard unlike your phone.
And of course as always outliers exist. Some places just have one route that makes sense regardless of current map data.

Why do you think my results are so different from yours?

much larger Lexus map display using an Android phone is a safety issue. I would also guess that the audio portion is better as well. To be completely forthcoming here, I usually print out Map Quest directions on paper or use my Garmin which I find very accurate and is always up to date with roads and traffic congestion.
Good answer... I certainly don't fret over a 10-15 minute difference in arrival times according to which route is offered. One additional point is that viewing a small phone display map vs. a

I'm optimistic that Lexus will significantly improve the Navigation going forward now that it's cloud-based and updates don't require any hardware or even a dealer visit. The Dynamic Navigation appears to be relatively new. Lexus says that my new car comes with a 3-year trial subscription for Dynamic Navigation. When I asked the folks at the Lexus 800 number what the subscription fee will be when the 3 years are up, they said that they haven't decided yet.
That's right. You want it on the Center Display.

Saturday night I put my home in, which is 25 mins north of Dallas, and Lexus nav took me from my location in downtown Ft Worth all the way East to downtown Dallas and then north 25 mins to Collin County. There's multiple northeastern routes that are almost as the crow flies on expressways that have been there for a decade or more. Lexus nav took me on what looks like a backwards L shaped route to get home. GMaps and Waze, with traffic considerations, had a 15+ min faster route. Not the first time this has happened.
I rarely go anywhere in DFW area without checking the traffic on the route. Our traffic is measures more insane than it was even 10 years ago. One wreck going from Collin County into Dallas can tie you up on a freeway for 45 mins extra.
I would just use the cheap air vent holders from Amazon or TJ Maxx but the ES only has one horizontal air vent slat and it doesn't hold the friction mount holders well at all.

And time is finite, 15 mins matters. I'd rather use that time with my family, my friends, my work, etc... Not staring at brake lights in my car.
When I log on to the Lexus website, it shows 4 trial subscriptions, but only offers me to renew 3 of them. Dynamic Navigation is conspicuously missing.
I have been putting my Android phone in a cradle clipped to the A/C vent, but it would be nice to get Google Maps on the center display. Another issue I have with my Android phone is that it's running Android 6 and can't be upgraded to Android 7. The Lexus Enform Remote app requires Android 7.
So having never owned an Apple product before, I went and ordered a refurbished iPhone 6S 64GB on Amazon for $180. I figure it'll be fun to play with. I plan to try it out on the ATT $2 Daily plan, which costs $100/yr. It'll allow me to get Google Maps on the Center Display, use the Lexus Enform Remote app, and try out a trial subscription of Tidal HD music service.

I set it up yesterday and tried it out today. Works like a charm. Nice to get Google Maps on the Center Display. I'm an even happier camper.
I got my $180 refurbished iPhone 6S on Friday. The phone is like new. The battery is 92% of a new battery, which is better than I expected. It came with a new lightening cable. Also, it came with a free 3-month trial for Mint Mobile, which I didn't expect at all.

I noticed they allowed those who had older models to bring in their vehicles to be upgraded when CarPlay rolled out. I am hoping they will do the same for the Android Auto.I saw an article that stated they plan to do this in Australia, so they makes me even more hopeful. I just got the 2019 Lexus UX, and I also bought an older iPhone just to use for longer drives, but I would rather have Android Auto.
I thought so. Particularly since I can't find a scratch on it! And it came with everything I need plus a 3-month free cell service trial.
The 16 GB iPhone 6S was $142, but I figured the extra $38 for the added storage space was worth it since you can't upgrade them. The 6S is more than adequate for my purposes. It allows me to do CarPlay, the Lexus Remote app, and try out Tidal high quality music service. Three birds with one $180 stone!
