Android Auto?
Tru dat.
If Lexus is really going after younger demographics (link to slightly old article below), they should keep up with technology (e.g. remote touch, backup camera resolution etc).

As for the remote touch I'm not a huge fan. However I really do like the position of the screen in the car since it's more visible without taking your eyes off the road. Because of the better position for viewing a touch screen isn't very useful. It comes down to the best way to control without a touch screen. Given that limitation I think the remote touch is the best I could ask for. It's an improvement over the old Lexus sliding joystick thing that offered no resistance and was all over the place. I also like the remote touch better than the dial type control that many other cars have.
" There’s no word yet on whether Lexus, Toyota’s luxury division, will offer Android Auto compatibility as well. Chad Deschenes, a product trainer at the Lexus College, told Digital Trends the company is open to making the software available sooner or later but has no firm plans to do so. The company knows it’s a feature in hot demand, but Deschenes pointed out that a full 80 percent of Lexus owners own an Apple-powered device. "
They are and they aren't. Chevy and Buick are the same company, but their offerings are very different. Might help to read the last paragraph of the article.

I'm very skeptical of that claim.
Anyone have any news on an infotainment update that support Android Auto since the 2020 RX with Android Auto is ready to hit dealers very soon?
I've resigned to plugging my SO's iPhone in on longer rides for Navigation. The Lexus Nav is pretty mediocre compared to Google Maps or Waze. I've almost admitted defeat and headed to the Apple Store a few times since picking up the car this Summer. If the hopeful update doesn't become available for the car before the iPhone 11 with USB C hits, I'll probably be giving up a decade of Android use for an iPhone.

I don't take and make calls while I'm driving so it's a non-issue for me...

So having never owned an Apple product before, I went and ordered a refurbished iPhone 6S 64GB on Amazon for $180. I figure it'll be fun to play with. I plan to try it out on the ATT $2 Daily plan, which costs $100/yr. It'll allow me to get Google Maps on the Center Display, use the Lexus Enform Remote app, and try out a trial subscription of Tidal HD music service.

I agree, the Lexus nav system blows. But, I have a great workaround for my android. I connect my phone by Bluetooth and run google maps. Found this great little phone cradle that sits comfortably on the shelf in front of the Nav screen and doesn't slip or fall. So I have full view of Google Maps and the verbal directions play through my speakers. Since you're connected by Bluetooth, you still get all your calls and texts and can use your favorite android music player. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HX5YSP7
If I needed a navigation unit for my daily driving, or even for trips, I would start by using the navigation built into the car and which I paid for. If I felt that the service was inadequate, I would utilize my Garmin portable unit that is map updated 3 times a year for free, has voice control, BT for phone, and alerts to traffic congestion and offers alternate routing. No phone necessary, no excess data usage, no phone mount blocking the vents...And I can keep my Android phone. And you can keep yours too AYGRIFFITH...
Always in fact - I let Lexus calc the nav and then check it against Google. Other than traffic issues, the in car system is typically spot on with Google.
