Default '16 ES350 - TPMS on winter wheels

I put snows on today. They are mounted on a 2nd set of rims. The rims were aftermarket from my '10ES.
I needed to replace the sensors, aftermarket sensors were used.

The TPMS warning light is not coming on, so far so good.
But the pressure reading is not showing up on the dash readout.

The shop says the ECU needs to be flashed.
Anyone know if this is indeed the issue?

I have a similar issue - check my thread below:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es-...es-wheels.html

I should say that adding just a single original wheel in front made the system work correctly - so perhaps the problem is that the front antennas read both aftermarket front sensors each.

Anyway the system is working and will alarm you if one of the tires begins to loose pressure. I wish Lexus would just display 4 pressures without any reference to the car corners in a situation when the sensor locations could not be determined.

Interesting, but at this point they're going to flash the wheels and reset

If the flash doesn't work, they're going to get some Toyota sensors at no additional charge

Were the new sensors for the winter wheels cloned from the sensors in the original (summer wheels)? If they were not, I'm pretty sure that you are going to have a similar problem in the spring because the ES is only capable of storing one set of sensor IDs.

So here's where we stand.
The reCloned the sensors, it didn't work.
The factory rep showed up and said take it for a drive. The numbers still didn't show up.
But, after 30minutes with the 17" wheels on the car, I realized the car was handling like ****.

They're taking the tires and sensors back and I'm tossing the wheels. We're going to put snows on the OEM Lexus wheels and be done with it.

The Snows are now on the 18" wheels.
The tire pressure now shows in the readout with the stock sensors.
The car is now handling well again.

In the final analysis, even though the car was available with a 17" wheel option I would suggest avoiding it and going to 18" wheels especially with snows.
