I'm getting ready to buy some rims but I've heard there's issues getting aftermarket sensors to work, so for those with aftermarket wheels did you swap in stock sensors or purchase new ones? And any problems getting them programmed? Did you have to go to the dealer?

Just went to discount tire, told them I wanted the nitto invos mounted on the enkei wheels and keep the same TPMS sensors off the stock wheels and that was it. Don't know if they had to reprogram them or not. They threw a whole sch-peel about how it would be best to get new ones and blah blah blah, but I told them I wasn't interested and they went ahead and did it. No problems with that since. When I started the car up, before leaving the lot, I checked on the tachometer and TPMS was up and running like normal.

I think they were around $80 something each. I wanted to be able to switch wheels without having to swap sensors. The ateq quickset is a tool that plugs into the obd port and contains your tpms IDs. I really dislike looking at the tpms dummy light.

The TPMS sensor is mounted on the inside of the rim, at the end of the valve.
Easier, and probably cheaper, to go with two sets of sensors, and reprogram when changing Wheels.
yea if you are in an area which you need a winter set of wheels, get another set of TPMS programmed for those and youll be able to swap wheels with minimal hassle between seasons. I though the car can recognize two sets of TPMS, so you dont you have to reprogram it each time?
