USB key not detected
Hi to you all Lexusers!
I'm a recent owner of a 2014 es 300h with the "Display Audio package". I like the car but the only issue so far is that once i insert my usb key with all my music i get a msg on screen saying that it's scanning the key, once the msg disappears nothing happens. I tried everything already like using dust off to make sure the port is not clogged, i erased everything on the key and added only one mp3 track...still nothing works. It scans and then nothing, on the display the USB icon under audio remains blurry. what should i do? do i have to update the firmware? I'm trying everything before taking it back to the dealer for better diagnosis. BTW the usb key I'm using is a brand new kingston data traveler 100g3 with 32gb. Let me know if you've experienced something similar and how did you got it fix.

There are lots of discussions across the forum about using the USB for music. A few key things: 1) make sure you've formatted the USB Drive for FAT32 (Windows format), and 2) only copy MP3 formatted songs. Last, make sure you don't have a gazillion songs and/or folders (search the user manual, or these forums, for limitations). Something like 9999 songs max and so many folders, too.

Yes it is fat32 formatted and i indeed wrote in my previous post that i"ve erased everything on the key and left one mp3 track (not in a folder) and still nothing happens, i also searched the forum and found nothing exactly like the issue I'm having. If you are aware of a useful post please share the link otherwise please read my post before recommending what i already said I've tried. Thanks for your quick reply and attempt to help.

"Right on" Mike728, his/her attitude is like telling somebody who attempts to give you mouth to mouth resuscitation when you're drowning that their breath smells so find me somebody with sweet breath or go away.

ctidjo,
I'd recommend trying different brands of USB drive to see if that can solve your problem.
Have you tried an IPOD or your cell phone? There are a lot of compatibility issues out there across the vehicle manufacturers between all of the different phones and UBS drives.
