I just bought a 1998 es300 about two weeks ago. On sunday I noticed that the floor board behind the passenger seat was wet. The carpet was soaked. It doesnt smell but it has a blue tent to it. I was thinking water pump? Help!

 

What colour is your coolant? Toyota use "red" coolant unless the previous owner switched to "green" coolant. Is it your windshield fluid?

 

I thought about the windshield fluid but its empty.. any my coolant is green.

 

Has it been empty? Because if it wasn't before, it must've leaked out.

Sounds like the evaporator core for the A/C. I come from a long line of GM cars, so I don't know whether it's the same in the Toyota, but the Evap core is the culprit when the passenger floor is soaking wet in those cars. I've replaced hundreds.

Don't run the A/C or defroster for a few days and see if things stay dry. If so, then you have a leaking Evap.

Did you rule out stopped up drain lines from the sun roof?

 

Ill try that this weekend. Its kinda hard have no ac in 100 degree weather with a child. Thank you!

When my sunroof lines were stopped up I had the dealer fix the problem. I think you need to look for the drain ports and blow them clear with compressed air. After a rain storm My rear floor carpet behind the passenger seat was soaked.
