what mazda will likely stand out is in their driving dynamics over their competitors - sadly most people don't care about this and only care about the badge. i'm curious to see if my assessment will be true when everyone gets behind the wheel!

Great that it has a proper RWD architecture with double wishbone and some aluminum suspension parts. These are what the RX/TX should have under their skins.
But the overall design of the CX-90 is very generic with boring details. The old CX-9 somehow managed to look better with its FWD proportion.

We shall see how it drives soon! The thing with Mazda is that most say they drive great for the price. Now that the price will be the same as the others, will the narrative change or will it stay the same?

Interior to me is in line with what you get in a top spec Telluride or Palisade, but seems like many are expecting it to be in the 60-70k range. If it's anywhere near there, this will be a hard pass for so many.
I think you will be surprised with the interior fit and finish. It's a class above Hyundai. Right on par with Volvo interior in my oppinion, at least that's how Takumi top of the line white interior feels like.

Japanese market CX-60 also has this interior to offer

Those aren't modest at all for Mazda considering the CX-90 is meant to be North American focused, and the CX-9 sold 35K units here last year. Unless they price this the same as the CX-9, I don't see this doing the same numbers.

Maybe, I hope you're right. And I'm just basing this off of pictures and not sitting inside the CX90. But even in that picture I see nothing here that says its a class above a Palisade Calligraphy. Suede headliner, nappa leather, deviated stitching or piping, aluminum speaker grills, nice wood surfaces. It's all present in both vehicles. It literally looks on par to me.

Not vs BMW/Audi/Mercedes they won't, even the Jeep Grand Cherokee will be difficult for it to beat

I think it looks GREAT, size inside and lack of lane centering makes it DOA for me. Styling though IMO is gorgeous, love the color. Would I pay $70,000 for this? Yes. I would much rather have this than a RX or MDX, other vehicles with small third rows.

Would have been extra special if they offer a two row version that seats 5. There is a 6,7, and 8 seat option.

It really is a fantastic effort by Mazda. I know you like hybrids, this is a mild hybrid, could you settle for a mild version?

We would likely go for the PHEV version.

There will be a 2 row vehicle on this platform.

I simply cannot believe Mazda came to market with this true RWD premium 3 row SUV before Lexus. Shocking.

I am surprised. Lexus sells so many RX models. And so many GX models…they make too much money off of them. GX was 32K last year in the US.
