2024 Mazda CX-90
Actually, it's a rear drive platform with longitudinal engine mounting
If they improved the interior space vs the current generation it would definitely be huge.
Ant Anstead I believe has a crap ton of car building shows on various networks like Discovery/TLC/Motor trend TV. I've seen a few many years ago but it's usually not my thing.
We'll see how ugly it is in about a week.
This is a big deal for Mazda. All these manufacturers need something to compete against the Telluride. The sporty part they will nail, but they need to get the feature content and the interior space right to compete.

Every teaser photo they have released so far looks like the Euro CX-60, just rebadged CX-90 for USA. I literally see no change here. While I applaud them in the fact that it has what enthusiast would probably want in a SUV in this price point, I personally think Mazda's marketing team is over hyping it a bit. They really trying to create a splash with something that we probably already seen. Lol
This power train will be a cut above the Telluride and the current HL I am willing to bet there is a Toyota connection to a model Toyota will have. I can’t see this Mazda competing with the Acura Type S MDX

I don't think Mazda intends for this to be a mainstream competitor, this is supposed to be a Genesis GV80 or MDX Type S competitor. Mazda can't compete at volume so they have no choice but to "go upmarket" to make up for their low volume; this and the CX-60 represent their new direction. The key to their success will be price, the Mazda badge has built goodwill over the years but not even remotely associated with premium like Acura or Infiniti. I suspect that it will be in the $70K range loaded, which will be a hard sell to existing Mazda customers, who probably couldn't care less that it's a turbo 6 RWD-based crossover.
