When he initially told the police he was at the game, they didn't believe him. His attorney tried to find video or picture proof from the stadium of him being there but couldn't find it. Then they discovered Curb was filming there that day and asked for all footage and it ended up proving him innocent.

I heard there is a Netflix doc on it.
yes! i saw that at one point too... curb doesn't just entertain it saves lives!

this i know from seeing a panel style interview with the cast, but larry was saying how there were limited takes to get the shot since they were genuinely at a dodgers game... so larry does his best to avoid eye contact with the funk man since he's so bad at not breaking during a take and bob einstein is so funny he would always make the cast break character

Tundra TRD is slower than the old one with the V8!!! Talk about a shot in the foot.. It's only a tenth, but still. 401lb/feet vs. 583? And it's being beaten?

No replacement for displacement!!! According to C&D, my LX570 from 2014 has the same 0-60 time.

Honestly, I love my Tundra, and I love my V8, but I'd give up some of that sweet V8 sound and feel, and a tenth of second to 60, for better torque (comes in handy when towing), better payload, and better fuel consumption. I'm glad I don't drive that much, because the gas mileage in my Tundra is horrific.

You must tow to the max, I get that. In that case though this new TRD engine probably isn't better because they complain about the power delivery as well.

I find my 5.7 more than ample towing my loads, but they're no more than 5k. I even leave it in 2nd gear start just to reduce the slightest possible driveline shock and 1-2 shift under load, plennnnty of torque.

It will do fine with 7.5k-8k as well, spoken from repeated direct experience......the turbo engines just do the same thing with less RPM once boost builds but it's really a wash. The NA engines just spin to 4k instead

My trailer is about 7000 lbs loaded, so not too bad, but the bigger issue is wind resistance, as it has all of the aerodynamics of a brick. My truck does fine with it, but more torque is always welcome. I spend a lot of time on the Tundra forums, and owners of the new model are super happy with its towing performance. I'm sure I would be too.

Can't wait to see how these new engines hold up.

Toyota could have easily taken it up to 6 Liters or more, modified the tune, added DI, start stop that everyone disables, etc etc. taken the hp to a good stretch above 400, and it would be wholly competitive with the V8s currently offered. But that's a pipe dream.

BTW, I hate it for you guys out there (but am not surprised), but gas is cheap here in the Southeast now and still way too high out West. I paid $2.45 a gallon for 87 yesterday, it cost like $48 to fill up the LX570. It was $100+ to fillip for wayyyyyy too long lol. It hasn't been this cheap since before the 2020 election.

I never cared anyway, but I did *notice* the insane gas bills, but now gas is pretty cheap again so I don't even think about it at all.... like at all. It's not just gonna be me who thinks this way.

Speaking of gas prices, I was picking my wife up from the airport where gas is usually higher and there was a Shell station right outside the airport loop and for 93 I paid $3.66 a gallon without any Giant discount points! The non-tier I gas stations by me that I usually go to (Royal Farms) was $3.69 for comparison. Usually 93 octane at a Tier I gas station is $0.30-$0.40 more a gallon.

Gas prices have dropped startlingly here and the national average isn't bad. Thank god. Now since it's cheaper for the trucks to bring us our stuff (if the price stays lower), hopefully other prices will follow suit at the supermarkets.

Premium fuel is still way too expensive I think. But regular is cheap again.

Eh, edit: Diesel is still $4. Not much savings. Trucks get 4-5 MPG so it's still a buck a mile essentially.

If anyone is interested in a Lexus LFA there are currently 2 up on BaT. The present high bid on one (with a special package) in over 1.2 million dollars. It sold last year for $1,625,000. The other one is now at $550,000. Both auctions have more than a week to run.

Do they take personal checks? I promise it'll clear.
