disagree... every time you drive your mercedes it's being used exactly as intended, which is to give its driver the best all-round luxury experience possible... even more so when being driven quickly on the highway
pickup trucks are meant to haul things and be used for work purposes, and you sacrifice everything when you use one just as a personal vehicle... driving a pickup truck as a daily vehicle is like walking while constantly wheeling an empty suitcase behind you

If you talk to people who drive pickups as a personal vehicle they would disagree that they are sacrificing everything. My business partner has had two fullsized trucks and also many luxury sedans and he loves his trucks.
Wow where/when did this happen? Must suck. Your car is basically still brand new. Glad it worked out. That's a little steep IMO. I did have PDR work on my GS I think. Someone must have banged their door on mine and I paid around 200 to have it fixed to original. Wonderful work. Fast forward a few months, it happened again. I didn't bother to get it fixed again. I just stopped looking at it.

This guy is expensive, but he is the best. That was a very complicated dent, it was all the way up into the window frame and all the way down towards the wheel well, its just not a $200 dent. I mean, 9 hours of labor lol
i don't mean would they be happy lol but in terms of would they be noticeably more limited in the activities they already do? i don't think so[
most pickups i see on the road (like 99% of the time) have an empty bed and aren't towing anything, and for me personally it's not worth it to limit maneuverability and use way more fuel for no reason just to have the whole truck image

Do you reallllllly need 12 cylinders? Same logic.
Except that I'm driving a 208 inch long 5,000 lb car alone. I don't need all the room.

my friend has a 2020 F150 and it's like cavernously big inside, and i won't lie it's nice being inside and having all that space... but at the same time i've seen him avoid certain restaurants/stores just because the parking lot seemed too tight lol
the S-class is by definition an unnecessary over the top purchase, but the reason for all that is justified since that's what's needed to achieve the ultimate luxury experience (short of a maybach or phantom) and have that 155 mph casual cruising capability... whereas with a luxury pickup i think it's a constantly compromised experience

I still wouldn't drive up on the sidewalk...
i can't see it as the same logic... a V12 is about having the bar none, most uncompromised luxury/performance experience possible (there's a reason gordon murray only considered an N/A V12 for his new supercar) if you're someone who wants the best that humanity can do
a pickup truck / SUV is constantly a compromise if you're viewing it as a luxury car... the best it can be is very nice for a truck, but will never match a purpose built luxury sedan for driving characteristics and handling

i hate traffic!! and dislike when something crowds the roads more than necessary purely for superficial purposes (again, shoutout to those who use their trucks for work and actually need them)
there's been many times when i've wanted to inch past someone to make a right on red or get into a parking lot entrance but can't because their lifted truck with wheel spacers is blocking the road lol

but with both there's no escaping how tall and heavy they are, and with the land cruiser you still get those solid axle jiggles through the seats and body... but neither are really that big overall and i think are more practical than something F150 sized, the GLE will even do mid 20s to low 30s on the mpg
