Nobody DID buttery better than Lexus. Numerous carmakers do now.
Big Buicks have always driven like whipped-cream, but, until relatively recently, the Division lacked the build quality of early Lexus models. That started to change about decade or so ago.
I would like to compare the LC500 interior to something similar, price wise. I would bet it's more buttery, lol.
But for sure, other brands have caught up.
Well nothing similar is similar in price. If you compare the LC to say an S Class, the S Class is comparable in quality. So is an A8, 7 Series or 8 Series, MB SL. 911s are incredibly well built.

I beg to differ. The brand, in recent years, has become more reliable than most full-luxury-brands.....including Cadillac and Lincoln. In fact, according to J.D. Power, only Lexus and Genesis exceeds it in the luxury class.

2015 Enclave in the family is nice and comfortable and quiet, drives well, but it ain't no Lexus or luxury car. The inside is horrendous with the cheap parts.
I am still just BLOWN AWAY by the new Yukon's interior, the buttons and pretty much everything else including switches which equal Lexus in terms of quality feel. (Window buttons, turn signal stalk, etc., sunroof controls, etc. etc.). The push button gear selector would absolutely pass muster in a high end Lexus, and I like how they put wood trim around it as it would be if it were a regular console shifter. I still don't care for the design but it is what it is, at least it is extremely high quality.
But the *****, volume and tuning for example, aren't buttery like Lexus ***** are. They're high quality enough, but not like Lexus.
You should go sit in a Genesis G90. From reading a lot of your posts I think I get your style, and I think you'd really like the feel of that car. I rented a 2021 on Turo during a quick vacation and I was completely blown away. The 2023 is even more refined and high quality inside. It'd be right up your alley - it's the car the LS should be at this point if it stuck true to its original fan base.
Oh absolutely. Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Genesis, all easily equal the quality feel of a Lexus in the switchgear, and from a refinement of drive perspective all those brands can and do as well
Some of the switchgear and quality in modern Lexus cars has gone downhill. Refinement used to be the big selling point in the past, this made up for mediocre power rating and slower performance, modern Lexus sell on different values and attributes that have more to do with a more sporting experience

I'd love to see one of those... and yes, you do get my style haha. I agree it's what LS should be right now, you and everyone...mags and everyone are saying it.

They are equal but have a different feel, Audi is clicky not oiled for the switch gear unless it's the Q series turn signals for some reason. Issue is modern Lexus doesn't feel special at the top level anymore

Thats reliability, not build quality. Nobody would confuse a Buick for a luxury car sitting inside one. It’s just not built to the same standard, which makes sense because it’s so much cheaper. They drive like what they are, mainstream FWD vehicles.
