In regards to the Carnival, I saw one the other day and had no idea what it was and thought it was a SUV until I saw the name, I really liked the looks of it for a minivan.
As for the Telluride, it really punches above its weight class which is why it’s such a good buy for the money.
Okayyyyy. So. To get into this place is almost the same thing as driving into an amusement park, not exaggerating. F’n insanity. We decided not to get gas and just drove around it all. Didn’t get any pics of the actual place, next time lol.leave.
Yeah that’s ridiculous, no way I’m sitting in traffic to go to a gas station, I don’t care how cool it is. I’m sure the hype will die down eventually and be more normal but who knows. We have a Raisin Canes coming to my town and I don’t expect to eat there for months once it opens just because I don’t have the patience and don’t care that much to have a good chicken tender.
Well I ain't paying one so if they want to sell me a car it wont have a markup lol
I don't blame you. I feel the same way. Even my next Buick (if applicable) will be subject to that rule.
I'm aware, they should have used Sedona for everywhere else in the world.
Agreed.....Carnival is a somewhat of a goofy name. I think they just used the Sedona name here because it has an American ring to it....a city in central Arizona.
Pacifica has an AWD option now too
Yeah, I had forgotten that. The Sienna was the only U.S. market minivan for a number of years with an AWD option...so it tends to get stuck in one's mind.
The GLS is a much cooler/better vehicle. It has tangibles and intangibles that make it worth the price tag. Turbocharged inline 6, RWD architecture, more sophisticated chassis and suspension, more performance, better styling, more space, MB brand and service.
True, but 45K is still a lot of cash to save by going with the Kia....if nothing else, that 45K could start a college-fund for your kids, something you will probably be facing in another decade or so.
I would take the GLS every time lol, but it truly is an incredible vehicle for $52,000.
One thing interesting about the Carnival (and I assume you noticed it) is that, save for the extended rear-end and sliding doors, it has classic SUV looks up front. That alone may attract some buyers.
No way I’m waiting in line at a Costco for gas, time is more valuable than a little money these days and I am usually one to look for cheaper gas when it’s convenient. Waiting for an open pump anywhere is a no go for me.

Yeah no, don’t sit in traffic for it lol

Yeah Sedona, like Telluride is a great name

You only live once. The two are different buyers with different incomes etc. I can and would pay for the GLS, but not everybody can or would.

Yeah that’s what drew me to it. It feels more like an SUV, while the Pacifica is a classic minivan that doesn’t pretend to be something else.
I just really want something other than another minivan…
I don't particularly want a new S580, thats the thing. I like a lot of things about my car better. I was telling my wife today, if it were something that I really wanted I would just go pay the money, but to pay $1,000 more a month for the new version of the same car when I don't love it is kinda insane.

Its not that I wouldnt be happy with the S580, I'm sure I would. if the payments were similar I would probably upgrade, but to spend an extra $1K a month for a car that doesn't wow me doesn't compute...
Same here. I can't see myself "upgrading" the X5. Not everyone is like us though. I know this guy he sold his to keep a tesla then sold the tesla to get the LCI. He probably burned some good cash there but for some having the latest is more important to them.

I usually go there on my day off and non peak hours for grocery and usually there's no line there. Maybe a few cars. I let her go in first then go to the pump. I'd have to wait for her anyway. If too many then I'd skip. It's not bad. But for me, it's more about safety. I can be sure that there is zero chance that someone would jump on us. And I have plenty of time for the pump, still worth a lot more than spending here. Lol.
Oh this lake house is a new thing starting today lol and I'll be there all the time, back and forth.... so I will have my chance to thoroughly check out Buckee's at some point, probably at night sometime. They 24 hours?
Wonder what the logistics or whatever of filling up their tanks underground! That's 120 gas pumps worth it needs.

I like having the latest thing too, I've never kept a car except when financially that was all I could do, these refreshes just aren't as appealing as the original cars IMO...

Haha, sometime when its not the day before the 4th of July!
Had the day off today, after we went and drove those Kias and had lunch I got the cars cleaned up. Happened to look on TireRack and the Pzero AS Plus I have are discontinued and on closeout, so I snagged new front tires and they are on their way. Will have that done later this week. Glad I happened to go on or I would have had to replace both the fronts and the rears. Rears are great, fronts are toast.
Also did the filters in the Pacifica. I'm surprised they didn't try and sell me these filters when I got the oil changed last week, they were filthy.
Cabin air:
Air box apart for the engine filter, lost both the damn screws down into the engine bay, at least I have similar screws.
The old filter:
All back together
Not sure what happened here, maybe one of the passenger side mitters in the carwash was leaking hydraulic fluid? All down the passenger side of the Mercedes. Came off with some citrus degreaser, but I have to bring this to their attention:
The rear tires, which look great, measure 7/32nds:
Fronts are done. 3/32nds and bald on the outside edge. These tires have 16,233 miles on them, super annoying.
If I keep the car and they are all done probably next year I will go to Continental DWS06+
