I mean yeah, the older demographic is usually the type of person I see behind the wheel. But not always. There are a bunch with aftermarket rims (some look nice, some not so much) around. I doubt those are driven by old people.

Well, I have said multiple times "bury me in my LS." Hah I'll probably drop dead behind the wheel eventually.

I just did. I'd rather have an engine. We're splitting hairs in the big picture. Of course the 4.6 is smooth etc. etc. I'd love a late 460.

Well, you do have a point there. The Chevy Bolt EUV that I test-drove was probably the smoothest drivetrain I have sampled since the 1969 Pontiac Bonneville and 1965 Buick Electra 225.

What is the Tesla test drive experience like when there’s no dealer?

Why the hell not.

See I could say the same thing about my LS, driving it through the desert at 125-130 for several, several hours on end on a desolate interstate. I'll never forget that. Striker you don't think so but LS430 is just as good of an autobahn runner as a Mercedes (or at least, it sure doesn't disappoint). It was engineered for plenty of high speed driving hence the lowest in production drag (at the time) and the in Japanese wind tunnels where they tested bullet trains etc. etc.

I'm sorry but the 4.6 just isn't as smooth and buttery as the 4.3, ever. I own the 5.7L version of the UR, plenty smooth and refined but those original Lexus V8s were just out of this world.
That's just not accurate man sorry lol! I can back to back my cars one after the other on 71 between the Marengo and Delaware exits doing 155 and the Lexus car just aren't the same tier. It's great yes, totally above any normal car but it's the bottom of the pack against the Germans with the LS460 being the closest.

I will say though the guy I sold it to is absolutely loving the car, he is enthralled with it 100% and has called me a few times already with how fast/responsive/amazing it is and how 100 feels like 60 lol!

Bro I own an SL roadster I’ve taken to nearly 140. There isn’t much difference in high speed stability between the two.

Curvy roads at high speeds may be a different story, but in terms of just freight training it down the interstate at high speed, LS430 can roll with the best.

Just like the Mercedes, the faster you go the better it feels. If only the speed limits were 100. Both cars feel/track amazing at that speed.

yep, if you have a Tesla showroom nearby you can do test drives there. They sell all of their cars at the end of each quarter, so they likely won't have any cars starting around mid June until they get replenished (typically about 4 weeks- so mid July). You should drive the Model S.

There’s a service center at the mall but separated right down the street.

Edit: It actually is a dealer. You can’t see in but there are cars in there.

Problem is I can see quality flaws in nearly every one just from the naked eye, the panel gap inconsistencies aren’t good. I don’t mean to be picky but my cars have crazy good panel gaps.

tesla doesn't have 'dealers' (independent selling businesses). it only has show rooms and service centers. you can't buy the car at the show room, you have to do that online. they will advise/help you of course but it's on you. vs. being brow beaten into "deals" "options" "packages" etc. at 'dealers'.

If you're just there to test drive and see what the Tesla driving experience is like, who cares about panel gaps?

Fair enough. But I own 3 flagship vehicles from Lexus and Mercedes so if the quality is crappy I’m going to notice it fast.

But there is the problem! You just said it yourself.....curves at speed. A Dodge Charger can do 150 all day in a straight line too lol!

Yes but freeway curves, all but the curviest I’m not talking about. LS430 would drive from NY to California happily at 125MPH the whole way, if only.

I never said it’s a car to chase sports cars up the mountains.

LS460 isn’t sporty either until the late ones, the F sport.
