IDK if you require them or not, but eggggactly. The only reason I have my front "Lexus" (which does look great I must admit) on my LX is because the holes were there, it was a NC truck. I wouldn't have holes drilled into my bumpers, ever.

Your Mercedes is beautiful, I didn't realize it was silver. Talk about a sleeper. What is the paint name and code if you know?

oh it's definitely required in NY... but the cop would have to reaaaally be a stickler to stop you for it

and it's code 744 - brilliant silver! i wanted obsidian black since the LS is already silver lol but i think it looks great in silver so no complaints

Yes! I'd love to get both of ours side by side and look at the paint. Mine is 777 Metallic Silver Arrow. I don't think I've ever seen your E55, for some reason I just assumed it wasn't the elegant sleeper it is. That could pass for an E350 almost. I love your wheels and that body has aged like fine wine.

All 3 of our cars are silver, lol. Good thing it's one of my favorites, probably THE favorite other than black. It's coincidence both Lexus models are the exact same Mercury Metallic but that was one of Lexus' best silvers IMO, they don't do anymore.

ha, well that IS front is not a thing of beauty really, but obviously that plate looks ridiculous in the acre of black.

i agree the genesis certainly doesn't look good, but the mount seems incorrectly done there.

perhaps it was designed for rest-of-world type plates like this:

Believe it or not, thats the correct mount! I see them all the time. Thats why I said they look so bad, its like somebody just zip tied the plate to the grille...

Here's a GV80 with a front plate bracket:

Genesis is indeed one of the most impacted design wise by a front plate. Can't do a center mount down below because of the sensor. Would need to do a tow mount hook. But don't know if those are worth it on non sports cars.

So at one point do you consider ditching a car. Got my 4R back. $1800 for repairs/service. 19 years old. Haven’t been in for, service since 2021. I am averaging about $1000 repairs/service a year since 2018/2019

thoughts?

I'll take it if it's silver lol!

It can get taxing keeping an older car on the road for sure, up north/where I am salt is a factor that can kill them as well.

ha. It’s blue. Shocks and springs are parts that wore out. I can accept that. . Corroded alternator connections. The brake lines is the PITA. Wondering how long till I let it go. Last of the V8s.

not sure if you're saying this gv80 is better or worse or as bad as the gv70 you first posted. gv80 obviously has more vertical room than gv70.

either way, i guess genesis would have to entirely redesign the fronts to make it work better. somehow i think they don't care.

Me personally, I'd get a magnet and put the plate to the side of the grill at least with the Genesis. It doesn't look as bad as one may think.

Saw alot of that in CA.

I think I'm going to be paying ~$2000 for my ML's service when I take it in later this year. You know it's a waste of money deep down. If that bothers you then I say time to find it's replacement. Unlike with my car, yours still has some value even at its advanced stage of use.

is there any car besides the LS 400 that actually had a designated mini cutout in the bumper as a spot for the front lic plate?

even more interesting, (to me at least lol) i've seen press shots with a different version of the front bumper that have no cutout and i'd love to know if one of those could be acquired

Ugh look how nice that LS400 looks, especially the silver one. There are still plenty of those out on the roads here.
