General Car Conversation
The Morizo was always going to be a collector's piece, since they're making so few of them (200 if memory serves?). The vast majority will go into private collections and never see the road, much less the racetrack.
That said, it's still somewhat reasonable at its MSRP of $50k, though the sweet spot is the Circuit Edition at $44k. In the six-figure range, anyone looking to you know, DRIVE the thing, is in a totally different class of cars entirely.

Yeah it's totally insane, especially if you come at it from the perspective of a car enthusiast. The type of performance cars I'm shopping at $50k could not be more different than what I'd be (and so recently was!) shopping at $100k.
But sadly, at this volume, this is no longer a car, but an "investment" and a trinket for bragging rights, largely by people who you and I would not recognize as car enthusiasts.

104 grand for a Corolla, no matter how specced out it is, is ridiculous.
Sicker than a dog. Didn't get out of bed all day yesterday so I couldn't go check out the car. Today isn't much better. Maybe it was a sign to stay away from BMW's and look into something else.

100 hp per cylinder. 197.5 hp per litre From a 1.6 litre motor. Weighing 240lbs. 7200 redline. Running OW20 and a single turbocharger. Toyota small engines are so far ahead.
Meh…. Buyers of the GR don’t want a BMW

If you really want to think about how crazy the price is, it's just $2k less than the base sticker of a Z06. You want to talk about special cars....
We do enjoy camping, but owning and maintaining a travel trailer is definitely work. Lucky for me, I actually enjoy doing it.
There is yearly/routine maintenance and inspections - like repacking the wheel bearings, checking brakes and lights, winterizing, etc. It shares many of the same systems as a house, just on a smaller scale. The challenge with that is that they get bounced around going down the road, so that can cause additional issues. Just like in a house, the furnace, kitchen appliances, AC, plumbing system, water pump, water heater, etc. all need to be maintained and all of them can have issues at any time. This is why it's incredibly important, at least in my experience, to buy a high quality trailer as some of them really stink.
Setup at the campground is work but not bad. I can do it in about 30 minutes - things like unhitching from the truck, plugging in to power and water (and sewer if available at the campground), leveling the trailer, extending the slide out, etc. It's really not bad.
It all leads to excellent family time in the great outdoors. I do enjoy boating, but am much more relaxed at the campground. Sitting around the campfire, outdoor cooking, fresh air, etc. For me, nothing beats it. It doesn't hurt that we can then each climb into our nice, comfortable beds at night in a great, climate controlled environment, and take a hot shower in the morning.
I also find it to be great to travel distance with. While I can't pull into a drive thru restaurant while towing it, we can easily pull into rest areas for anything we need. Just pull in, and head back into the trailer to make lunch, go to the bathroom, etc. It really is a traveling house for us. It was a true vacation life saver for us through the worst parts of COVID, when we weren't ready to fly, go to hotels, etc.

It cost me about $300 to winterize my boat and $500 to de-winterize.
It would be a better comparison to but a larger boat against a big camper like yours. We don't have to worry about water or any of that stuff. But on a cabin cruiser (which we will own one day) it's different lol. We had one back in the day when I was growing up, it had everything-- hot water and ice. Working kitchen and shower. A/c and generator. That's what we want is to get one of those eventually and leave the house for a week and not come home. Sit in the middle of nowhere on the lake.
I do feel you on the camping but ultimately I'm just a boater.

Uh cool. It's still gonna get absolutely annihilated by an RS3.
I never ever thought of stuff bouncing around and that being hard on it, you learn something new every single day on here. Boats are built to crash into waves, so that's +1 for them.

My almost-fully-loaded base M3 (because clutch pedal) cost ten grand less than this thing, and is a better car in literally every single way. THAT'S what (not even!) doubling the price of a car should get you.

I thought you all would get a kick out of this. My Mom brought me a box of old license plates she has of all the cars that they had and I had for me to hang on my garage wall, and she brought me a bonus. This is my Dad's first car phone circa 1988:
And this is the temporary tag for the LS400 from 1998:
