We were talking about how bad Genesis designed the place for license frame, well I saw this GLE AMG line where the owner place the place over right corner of the grille. Wth? Why do people do this? Tow hook is odd enough but over on the side of the grille? Man he killed the beautiful look of a very nice SUV. I bumped into him twice on opposite side of the road. So most likely I will bump again. He will be on here next time. Lol

I know, that looks so weird, on basically anything but Genesis, you're better off just to mount the plate where it goes.
I know an American 1500 is the best tow vehicle but I must say, the LX tows my boat beautifully. About 4k lbs all in. AHC keeps ride silky. V8 is really strong. If you just drive normally you can hardly tell a difference in acceleration. I LOVVVE this truck just for these reasons. Tow 7k lbs, pack 7 people in it, and drive off like you’re in a truck Lexus LS. Boo hoo it gets 12mpg.
BOF SUVs will NEVER go extinct. The raw capability is such a part of the appeal.
One time while pulling the trailer with the Tundra I forgot to turn on T/H Mode. The difference was striking. I thought there was something wrong with the truck.
No tow haul mode. I do know what you mean, my gone Yukon had it and it would drastically alter the transmission behavior. It worked as intended but I didn't use it all the time because our old boat wasn't heavy.
Transmission behavior doesn't change towing with LX. There is a transmission cooler, wouldn't be worried in the slightest towing across country.
It just drives and rides like regular pulling a load. No complaints at all, the old 6speed transmission is spunky to begin with and it will hold gears quite nicely towing if you like so you have all the power to wring out if you need to.

I didn't know Toyota Tundra had tow/haul mode. 4Runner, GX and LC or LX do not. Does your Tundra have trailer brake control as well?

Yeah the Tow/Haul Mode in the Tundra is super aggressive. Significantly changes the throttle mapping, adjusts the shift points, and the torque converter. If you use T/H while not towing, the throttle mapping is so aggressive you can't start out smoothly and can easily spin the rear wheels.
How heavy is the boat? My trailer is about 6500 lbs loaded, but the biggest issue is that it has the aerodynamics of a square brick.

That is a nice set up Too bad Toyota doesn't do multi-mode 4WD like they did Sequoia and V6 4Runner where you could go 2WD to full time 4WD and leave it forever. Do you have a trailer brake control?

2800lbs, but it's got provably 100lbs of gear on it, and the trailer weighs I'm guessing about a thousand pounds. So I guess about 4k lbs.

Nice of you to say. Thank you.
While I do agree that Toyota should offer a full time 4WD system on the Tundra, I would never use it. It's just not a thing for me.
Yes, the Tundra has a built-in integrated brake controller. Very handy. I didn't have to add and mount a 3rd party brake controller to the Tundra like I had to do with the Tacoma.

Ah yes, I bet that is no match for the 5.7. My previous travel trailer weighed about 4k loaded. It still had the aerodynamics issue that your boat does not, but the 5.7 didn't break a sweat. It has to work quite a bit harder with the current trailer.
