so now i have an alternative, i’m realizing things i don’t like about carplay or can’t figure out.
why does it only show 3 recently used app icons on the left side of the home screens? on mine at least there’s certainly room for more.
why can’t icons be locked to the left side (favorites) rather than being the most recent 3?
why do app icons on the ‘pages’ of the home screen have to be so gigantic?
why can’t the apps be re-arranged on the car screen (in park) instead of buried in settings in a list on the iphone?
not sure on this (i tried playing with carplay ‘widgets’ which i didn’t even know existed until i found out recently) but is it possible to use an AI via voice other than lame siri? i tried adding a grok widget but ran out of time to see if i could get it to work.
what about you?

26.2 further refined Smart Display Zoom to automatically adjust and scale according to available screen real estate. It is a toggleable feature, so check in settings. Mine has up to 20 icons on screen per page, four rows and five columns, and if I remember right there are four recently used quick access icons. 26.2 also refined the Liquid Glass UI so you can adjust the icons in several different ways now.
one thing i’ve wondered recently is why so few apps support carplay. of the 100 or so apps on my iphone, only 11 support carplay.
Is this complaint coming from someone that dailies a car without CarPlay? I'm an easy customer... all I need from CarPlay is iMap and Wifi Audio. Anything else I can do on my phone (more easily) when in P. But I do wish one day they will make YouTube Music available.

YouTube Music does support CarPlay. And to Bitkakuna's comment about only 11 apps supporting CarPlay, there are over 50 on my phone. And there's nothing particularly esoteric or odd about those 50.
All I want is a Bluetooth phone/audio link and I'm happy, all other functions I'll do via the phone directly since I can hold it in my hand to control it.

That's all I have in my truck. I'm ok with it.
I don't handle the phone much while I'm driving. I prefer to be looking out the vehicle windows while driving rather than at a phone. On the flip side, if cars not moving at a green light is an indicator... I think a lot of folks prefer looking at their phone.

I don't want to handle my phone while I'm driving. The Audio, phone, and navigation on the screen is so important.
Thats the great thing about CarPlay, everything is just as easy and intuitive as on the phone.
