Best-Ever Combined May Sales for the Niro Hybrid, PHEV and EV; More Than 2,400 All-New Sportage Hybrids Sold In First Full Month of Availability
IRVINE, Calif., May 31, 2022 – Kia America today announced May sales of 57,941 units with the Niro family of hybrid, PHEV and EV models posting best-ever May sales, up more than 28-percent over the previous record set in 2021. In addition, the 1st full month of deliveries of the all-new Sportage HEV charged ahead in May, with 2,417 units sold. Sales of Kia’s electrified models were up 132-percent over the previous May record set in 2021; and up 5-percent over the all-time monthly sales record for the vehicle category set in March of 2022.
“Kia’s electrified vehicle sales remain strong and are contributing to the brand’s path to another successful year,” said Eric Watson, vice president, sales operations, Kia America. “With the continued popularity of the EV6 and Niro, coupled with early robust interest in the Sportage hybrid, we are confidently ‘on target’ and expect to see momentum continue throughout the summer sales season.”

IRVINE, Calif., June 1, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) today reported total May sales of 15,312 vehicles, a decrease of 63.7 percent compared to May 2021. Year-to-date sales totaled 127,673 vehicles; a decrease of 18.5 percent compared to the same time last year. With 24 selling days in May, compared to 26 the year prior, the company posted a decrease of 60.7 percent on a Daily Selling Rate (DSR) basis.
CPO sales totaled 5,077 vehicles in May, a decrease of 26 percent compared to May 2021.
Mazda Canada, Inc., (MCI) reported May sales of 3,974 vehicles, a decrease of 31.5 percent compared to May last year. Year-to-date sales decreased 17.5 percent, with 22,892 vehicles sold.
Mazda Motor de Mexico (MMdM) reported May sales of 2,138 vehicles, a decrease of 44.7 percent compared to May last year. Year-to-date sales decreased 33.4 percent, with 14,031 vehicles sold.

EV sales are a fraction of these numbers, they simply have a more robust supply chain.
Honda's supply chain is absolutely pathetic. Really demonstrates why they're a bit player in the global market.
True. The local Honda dealer has about 70 percent used cars on their lots. In fact I received a memorial day sales email from a Honda dealership I bought from in 2018....they were advertising their used cars
Volvo Car USA maintains sales of Recharge models amid industry challenges in May
Jun 02, 2022 ID: 301849MAHWAH, NJ (June 2, 2022) Volvo Car USA reported sales of 9,372 cars in May with Recharge models (EVs and PHEVs) representing 35.7 percent of total volume, indicating continued consumer demand for electrified vehicles.
In California, Recharge models accounted for more than three out of four (77 percent) retail deliveries, up six percent from the previous month.
In Canada, May sales of Recharge models accounted for 34 percent of total sales, up 2.4 percentage points over the previous month. Overall sales increased 2.8 percent over May 2021.
The Volvo Car Americas region as a whole saw 11,513 cars sold during the month.
