there’s obviously going to be an initial period where they sell every one they can build, time will

Best selling vehicle segment where I bet most of the configurations sold are well under 60k.

The F series the best selling vehicle in America and even it's own electric version hasn't done well. I do expect the cybertruck to do better than the lightning, but again, nowhere close to 250k per year.

Well maybe, but there are a LOT of expensive trucks on the road and a lot of customers with a lot of money who don't do "truck stuff" as much as like having a truck. Ford has had some issues with the Lightning but just as people overlooked the factory switchover when discussing Tesla's sales drop, Ford has not been able to sell or deliver these for extended periods due to recalls and parts shortages. The devil is usually in the detail.

I bet it's bc they don't like Elon anymore.
I never even remotely liked him, but still bought a Tesla. It's my money and I spend it on what I consider to be the best for me at the time.

Okay, I didn't say everyone. I said am genuinely kind of shocked at the negative feedback this is getting "from the public". Lots of negativity that I didn't see coming at all.

Elon is wayyyy more controversial now than 2019.

Has nothing to do with Elon's antics except the product not even close to matching what he promised all those years ago. Facts don't care about feelings.

You're shocked that he's getting negative feedback on something that's more expensive and less capable than what he promised?

It might seem like their is a lot of expensive trucks but most of the trucks sales are under 60k.

Right now Ford has almost 9,000 new lightning trucks on dealer lots waiting to be sold. I don't think there is an issue with availability. Within 25 miles of me I have 53 new ones on dealer lots. (All via autotrader).

Edit: just to compare known models that are supply constraints, there is 77 new rav4 primes and 1660 new siennas on sale nationwide. Within a 25 mile radius there are 12 siennas and 0 rav4 primes.

I get why people are upset about the updated pricing, but a lot has changed since the initial announcement. You'd think automakers would stop promising prices at the announcements by now

Nothing to do with Elon, it's that Tesla is not delivering what was promised. One of my co-workers was expecting the $39K RWD, he's probably going to back out because he doesn't want to spend $60k

I was never in the market for one and my initial impression was that a drunk 5 year old drew the design but it's actually starting to grow on me. They just got one at the Tesla store near me and there was a line out the mall to see it lol.

Again, they don't... The devil is in the detail as I said. Those numbers include vehicles being built, in transit, customer orders awaiting pickup, vehicles waiting recall parts and more. Ford pushes data from the factory that auto feeds dealer websites and those sites auto feed the likes of cars.com and autotrader where the misleading aggregated numbers come from. There aren't 9000 Lightnings that can't find buyers sat on lots gathering dust. Both my Lightning and my Bronco appeared on my dealer website (and cars.com etc) as available and for sale because Ford pushes the data out as they are being built. If you'd asked my dealer about them, they weren't available - but according to the dealer site and cars.com etc, they were. My dealer shows a fair few available but has none on the lot - for the reasons stated.

What segment does the Model Y compete in again. LOL!

Back to Cybertruck it's the most advanced vehicle ever made yet some of you are calling it a major disappointment. Pricing is largely due to inflation should be obvious but I guess many people simply don't know what inflation is.

You missed the point being made. This is the first time Tesla has competed in the truck segment.
