Kodak had the most patents in digital cameras and they were first and they were the incumbent film leaders. Basically, they were Toyota of the camera world at the time.

And now they are so far behind in camera sales, it's not even funny how they completely lost their mojo. I sure hope Toyota does not go the same way.

I don’t think Toyota is gonna have a problem. In fact, Toyota is charged to become even bigger as they have the hybrids to take over in so many segments where legacy makers will abandon…as more battery EVs become more mainstream…Toyota will clobber most as they have research, manufacturing knowledge and current hybrid base to make the transition…at some point when everyone realizes that batteries are not for everyone (charging issues, taxes) Toyota will be right there with a hydrogen solution as the Mirai is what the Prius was back in 1995. It’s unfortunate so many can’t see past 60 meters

For Tesla…I view Tesla more like BlackBerry who were beloved…as more big legacy makers starting offer alternative solutions..Telsa will become irrelevant. It took Tesla 19 years to barely squeak a profit. The battery electric segment is just 2% in the US

just my humble opinion…

Who knows ….maybe Elon Musk will try to buy and move a hockey team

Spreading mis-information again

Ofcourse Tesla will become irrelevant as they don't have any competitive advantage - no supercharger network, the least efficient EV powertrains, and the fact that they will not have the biggest battery factory in production in a year. 🤔

Its a bad analogy. Blackberry was an incumbent and not the disruptor. Tesla is the disruptor in the industry just like Apple was in mobile.

I agree in principle, but the Prius was not introduced to the American market until summer of 2000, not 1995. I remember both well....I got to sample and test-drive one of both the first Honda Insight Hybrids into the D.C. area (January 2000), and Prius (August 2000).

Why is it despicable? I think clueless politicians forcing compromised EV's on the population for money, power, control is what is really despicable. Toyota may have the right idea lobbying and sounding the alarm because these ridiculous regulations are way too stringent and set way too early for no reason other then to force EV's on people and try to kill ICE even though that is really impossible for so many reasons and EV's won't make any positive difference to the air/environment, they will likely make it worse, create worse problems. Toyota has said the move to EV's will likely kill millions of jobs in the auto industry, I think it will bankrupt several automakers who will expect huge taxpayer funded bailouts which still might not work.

Toyota CEO: Going All-EV Could Cost Japan Millions Of Jobs

Will cost TOYOTA and other auto makers refusing to adapt millions of jobs not the industry as a whole. Also his statement is idiotic on its face every ICE produces CO2.

Good luck with that, it is not realistic.
