Brings the LX into this decade, but I think it won't move the needle for the brand. This is not the GLS/X7 fighter that dealers and consumers are looking for. I also don't think the full-size Range Rover has anything to worry about. It also will launch a full redesign soon, which will likely push Range Rover sales even further above this LX.
After almost a year, I'm still not comfortable with the joystick. I always have to double check to make sure it's parked. Lol. I don't mind this ancient shifter at all. And I certainly would rather want this over the levers used in some other high end SUVs.
not sure what you drive, joystick? and yet, the new nx has gone to the same shifter as on the LC500, without leather boot.

Because those use electronic shifters. Your shifter **** is different but the pattern has been around since early 2000's. It's the same on a Prius, CT200h, HS250h, LC, LS and now the NX. The LX likely has the boot because it's hiding the mechanical linkage to the transmission.
I really don't know what to say and where to start. Volume knbo on the heighest part of the dash, higher than speedometer hood? How does a passanger reach that one at all? Separated dual screens bring horrible Acura/Infiniti flashbacks. I don't doubt interior will be top notch in material quality and finish but the layout looks like something out of Nissan/GM drawing board. Nothing sophisticated about it like the previous gen.
CRAP interior where the center stack is. Absolutely dreadful
Japan has an off-road LX600 with front, center, and rear locks....but not coming to the USA. They moved the the Torsen limited slip to the rear instead of middle. The engine is weak.
The second row seatbelt height adjustments have been deleted. Bitkahuna is right, the leather shifter looks like crap in this class and price of vehicle
Nice effort to reduce the weight. I do like the " L E X U S " script out back
The worst ever press release over at Lexus.com
Something tells me the price point will have a cheaper MSRP starting price
This model was clearly made for the UAE and Asian markets...the new Tundra interior is more elegant Even the new NX looks nicer and more interesting inside.....Toyota made a BIG MISTAKE discontinuing the Land Cruiser for the USA
IDIOTS at Lexus.

What happened to the interior designers at Lexus? Where are the guys who designed the spectacular LC and LS interiors? This is going to be the most expensive vehicle in Lexus's lineup and it still uses a shifter from a freaking UX?
I don't believe they've released that info. All we have to go by is the engine in the 2022, and specs from 2021 LX 570. That said rigidity is up, weight is down, fuel economy is likely up, power is up

Good point. I'm sure it's very high quality but it doesn't look super luxurious. I don't see any wood. The "gauges" look stupid in this, too.
It's not the same shifter as a UX, it's properly connected to the transmission mechanically here in the LX. As an owner of a 200LX, the shifter is like granite and feels like it can take plenty of abuse. I'm glad they kept it that way.
It has a lot of wood actually, it’s just a matte open pore wood that matches the interior. Have to try the materials in person, hopefully they are improved that was a weak point of the outgoing truck.
I like it a lot! Love the shifter, having two cars with e-shifters now I hate them. Give me an old school shifter any day.
Lexus logos on the headrests are a little gauche. Grille is a little blingy, but overall I will absolutely drive this and consider it when the time comes.

I have hunch feeling that Toyota derived models are co-designed by Toyota designers. You can tell there is a huge disparity in layout between LS, LC,even defunct GS and Lexus CUVs.

They should have put the volume **** where the sunroof controls are. The engine start button is far away too

Where? I see zero wood. And yes, proper shifter is a good thing. As you probably know they're solid as a rock in older ones. I fling mine back and forth and I'm "hard" on stuff.
I haven't seen Lexus logos on headrests yet. I'd say this will be fast and probably get 17-18+ MPG which is a huge improvement. So, for people who care about gas mileage they have succeeded.
You're going to consider this as a future vehicle? A BOF truck? Doesn't sound like you.
