2022 Lexus LX600 (4th gen)

No, I don't. Did you not see where I said "good for him, glad he achieved it"? It's there clear as day. I'm not hating or jealous, I just don't feel he is a true professional. And yes, he got lucky. SaabKyle started it all. Kyle is dorky too but I liked his dorkiness.

And Kyle is a great example of how hard it is to stay successful. He gets very few views anymore and the medium has totally surpassed him, he’s a non-player.

I've read every professional LX article there is known to man (trust me), the consensus is it has a nice, push ride for a body on frame pseudo-rugged suv.
the LX is pretty firm and obviously BOF (you feel the slight disconnection between body and frame). it's not terrible by any means, it is physics and is what it is. the LX ride, for what it is, is EXCELLENT.
the GX unless it's changed a lot since i drove one, is much softer, and still obviously BOF. the GX ride, for what it is, is also EXCELLENT.
a range rover, or mercedes gls don't have the obvious BOF limitations and also have VERY sophisticated suspensions. their ride is simply put, amazing. simply on another level.
Let me be clear, there is a huge difference between Motor Trend and Joe Blow on Youtube.

I think the whole Youtube reviews thing was just something waiting to take off, a "why didn't I think of that" sort of thing. Kyle made lots of money at one point.
I started a property management company right before the real estate market tanked in 2005 and nobody could sell their houses and had to rent them out. That was not luck, I bet that was going to happen and I jumped in.
You confuse luck and skill. Like him or not, he has a quirky personality and loves cars and he creates content MANY people enjoy. In what way have you contributed to the world?
I think the last time I cared about 0 to 60 times or anything like that I was a teenager. Now that I am much older, that type of stuff is not an important factor in my decision on which vehicle to purchase. As long as I can merge on to a freeway with ease, that’s all I am concerned about.
To each their own. 😎

yes, MT and C&D (particularly MT) clearly do a lot of sucking up to their advertisers. you rarely find much negativity in any of their reviews.
i've driven LX, GX and many other SUVs, BOF and not.

yup, MT sucks up to advertisers. Joe Blow on YT can be as blunt as they like. plus, you talk about MT having 2 weeks with vehicles, but YTers now do the same. the car makers clearly recognize the clout that YTers have and it's WAY (orders of magnitude) bigger than 'magazines' (although MT, CD, etc. now have decent YT presence too, but they need more personalities). Micah Muzio for example has become a great personality for Kelly Blue Book.

Also, just an observation, GX and LX ride about the same at least that's what I thought.
that's where it should have ended.
that's far too judgmental and personal... don't do that.
AJT123 and SW17LS - i've deleted the recent back and forth because you're both getting too personal and not contributing to the thread.
take it to PM if you want to continue going at one another.

The point is…Doug DeMuro is a real person like you and me and he has contributed greatly to the fabric that is the hobby of cars. Being a car enthusiast is better because he and others like him exist. Just don’t tear the guy down,
whether you like his videos or not.
People who do things really well make them look easy. Doesn’t mean they are easy.

i posted the video because it contributed to the subject. whether you like him and what he's done, or AJT123 doesn't, isn't relevant.
