You are not signing a bill of sale when you order the car; the bill of sale actually transfers ownership to something. You are signing a purchase order, and I'm highly confident that most dealer purchase order forms have lots of fine print that heavily favors the dealer, and is very unfavorable to the consumer. Any dealer legally binding themselves to deliver a product they don't even have, without some way to get out of it, is just bad at business.

The issue is when the order is placed there is no specific vehicle listed, nor is there a delivery time included in the order. So, they can mark it up all they want.

Makes me think of these:

Swap on the earlier smaller bumpers & you'll have the basis of the Gapp 'n Roush drag car from the early '70's......

Default Ford Maverick

I have read a few reviews, and find this to be an awesome alternative to some of the cheaper cars out there. I’ve considered getting one myself, as I miss having a truck bed, and wouldn’t mind a better fuel economy vehicle.

I’m not in the market but I have noticed myself checking them out. Priced right, not horrible looking, and as much truck capacity as 90% of truck owners actually need. Probably not a great farm/country truck but great for cities.

Same thoughts here. I pick up stuff for my house all the time, but I don’t tow or haul. My cars require premium, and return 17-24 mpg, so the base model hybrid would be a noticeable bump for my around town driving. I plan to start road tripping a lot, so my wife and I are open to a better economy vehicle.

I’m sort of surprised it is so cheap. Ford surprised me. I wonder how much an EV equivalent would cost?

This little truck checks off so many boxes for so many people. I keep thinking it is the return of the great Datsun pickup.
It just makes sense. Ford hit a home run with the Maverick, and I have not even seen one.

I like it, wonder how it compares to the Hyundai Santa Cruz, they look like they're in the same class.

They are sold out of some versions until the mid-summer factory changeover to the 2023's. You cannot even order them. The computer-chip shortage certainly doesn't help.

Face it......this is a popular truck, and people love it. Ford hit a home run with this design, and, like with the Bronco and Bronco Sport, caught rival GM off-guard.

I think these things are pretty awesome, but only in the lower trims. You can hit near $40k on these if you load them up, at which point something like a Ranger, Tacoma, Colorado, or Frontier would feel like a better value. If I wanted a small pickup for Home Depot runs and yard work, this would be perfect.

Exactly. In lower trims, it’s awesome. As it branches into the higher trims, I’d want more for my money.
