Default New Kia Logo

Now, we have the chance to see what this new design looks like on an actual production car, thanks to Motor1 and The Korean Car Blog. The images seem to originate from Korean website Clien.net, with the new badges spotted on the steering wheel, trunk lid and above the radiator grille of an unknown model.

That doesn't look quite like the image that was shown for the new logo trademark. And it looks like it's on the Cadenza, so makes me think it's some aftermarket generated of what was on a concept car.

New Logo, less of a bridge between the top of the K and the I.

The badges in the article look like an adaptation from the concept car:

I feel like the trademark real version is a bit more refined and better than the concept and the ones from the original post.

I like it. This can potentially help attract new buyers who were weary of the old Kia badge and their past despite better products currently

Old and new badge never bothered me at all. Only but so many decent fonts for a simple 3 letter word.

(Supposedly) the name "Kia" comes from a Korean words that mean "To arise to the world from Asia".

Doesn't look like the letters it's supposed to be. But more stylized than before, which I guess was the original intent. I'd give it a grade "C-."

Glad they got rid of the oval and boring font, but this new one is a bit weird.

definitely not memorable.

I'd personally rather see them change to this logo. The logo in the OP seems a bit too contemporary. I don't dislike it, but it seems like they will end up having to change it again in a few years when it's not as stylish anymore. I'd rather a logo be something that can stay essentially the same for decades--it's a symbol of your brand.

^^^^^ That traditional Kia image you posted actually looks more like the Lexus "L" than it does "K" for Kia. I can see why Kia changed that logo, at least in the U.S.

We'll see if that is official or not but the KIA logo/badge is long overdue for an overhaul. Warranted or not, people are embarrassed by the current cheap looking badge. It still connects KIA to the '90's garbage that many people can't get past even though today's Kia's are among the best cars. KIA's challenge is that their namesake still sounds cheap, and unfortunately that can't be changed. So might as well try and create a more modern and premium looking logo. Abstracted is the best bet when you just have "KIA" to work with.

What's cheap about it? It's just like the blue Ford oval, just a different color.
