Problem for me is although they are making good cars these days, as mentioned earlier in this thread, the name Kia bothers me. It just sounds generic and cheap to me.
Depending on the literal Chinese/Japanese/Korean translations, Kia, in general, means "Bright" or "Arising out of Asia".
To be honest, I don't see where logos themselves are going to make much difference in a company's vehicles.
I agree completely with this M&M!
Where an excellent corporate identity can make a difference is in the perception of the company and/or their vehicles. This is precisely where the Kia brand needs all the help it can get.
Well, you yourself, Jill, have been doing much of the posting in Car Chat on the Hyundai/Kia engine/vehicle-fires. One is not going to address that problem by simply redesigning a badge.

That stuff doesn’t really matter for the current right now buyer. People by on emotion and how they feel when they test drive it and the pressure of the dealer...this seals the deal....long term those recalls hurt....KIA has some good products out there and the Telluride is the showpiece of the dominion. A new logo helps push the brand.
(just my opinion of course)
