Tesla unveils Cybertruck
Usually I agree with many of your posts, but aren't we getting a little carried away here with assumptions and stereotypes?
First, trucks aren't built for personality shortcomings...they are built to carry passengers and loads, although many of today's trucks, particularly in top trim-levels, admittedly place as much or more emphasis on driver/passenger comfort as they do traditional hauling and towing.
Second, although they are not necessarily my cup of tea, I fail to see how having a BEV deprives one of manhood. Male or female, EVs offer a lot of advantages over ICEs...less pollution, less maintenance, quiet operation, and, yes, in Tesla's case....loads of torque. I grant you, though, that they are not necessarily the best vehicles for long trips because of range limitations.
Third, cargo vans have their place, but there are some things that, like it or not, are best carried/hauled on an open bed. If not sooner, you'll find that out, next spring, when it is time to fertilize the garden-beds LOL.

I really wish the government will stop classifying these pickups and SUVs as light trucks, and slap them with the same pedestrian safety regulations that apply to passenger cars, so that manufacturers can no longer make them so obnoxiously ridiculous.
This is interesting. An explanation of why there are no curves in the design.

You would think that Musk would have mentioned this before seeing how the design choice was so highly criticized.

For something that looks like that
, yes, I'm a little surprised, although it's no secret that the Model 3 is taking over the sedan market in the U.S.Discounting the BMW X6, the last crossover/truck introduced with anything near the Cybertrucks's lines (the Acura ZDX) was a complete sales flop.

Give it time, I thought it was insane at first but after taking it in I think it's cool somehow and completely different.
Could be mostly because there is high demand for a good EV.
The look is incredibly boring at least to me.

Nine times out of ten, a cargo van is far more useful vs a pick up truck, especially when it comes to pick up trucks with small cargo beds. And nobody is carrying fertilizers in their 70k shiny pickup trucks - people only get them because they are somehow considered redneck status symbol.

I wish you would chill with the generalizations. I drive a truck, not a cargo van, half the time and I'm not a redneck. I tow my boat with it, help people move stuff with it.....you know, things that trucks were made to do.

Here's what's probably the best video I've seen on the Cybertruck yet. It shows the initial rollout, the crowd-reaction, and some durability-tests of the body panels on stage, similiar to what Saturn used to do at auto shows, 20 years ago, with the plastic-bodied S-series.
