Tesla unveils Cybertruck
I would hate crawling into and out of a teeny sports car each time I had to go somewhere. Trucks have tonnns of room inside and are some of the most comfortable vehicles around. You have a better view of the road. People get out of your way. They're powerful. They feel tough.
Different strokes for different folks.

Yeah but is it worth the bad gas mileage just to look over people? Cybertruck in any case is an interesting truck. Doubt it will steal F150 buyers or 911 buyers (Musk compared it to both) but Tesla fans are already falling all over it and for someone who doesn’t actually use their truck for any legitimate reasons it will probably make sense.
I think we will see the cyber truck’s true usefulness when ranchers & builders start putting thru their daily chores. It will either sink or swim at that point. Hopefully, if it sinks, there will be enough urban users like myself that will keep the vehicle alive while improvements can be made. I don’t want to see Tesla go away. They may not be the right vehicle for me, but I believe they serve a particular market, especially in urban areas.
I’ve concluded the cybertruck and tesla in general is at this point a ‘fashion statement’. The cybertruck is like a really clunky ugly (to regular people) and impractical pair of shoes but the fashionista go wild for...

How high do peoples' power bills skyrocket when plugging in Teslas nightly?
Tesla drivers do realize that it's the most likely that their electricity is coming from a coal plant, right? They're still polluting the air.

If you want to see the math behind the average emissions, I have provided a link.

The Us has switched to natural gas for the most part. Even with coal, they equate to a car that gets 50mpg. With natural gas, even higher. My electric bill went up $60 a month for about 1500 miles of driving. I also have over 500hp that i judiciously use so I've been saving about $250 a month vs my last car. Tesla's also have no maintenance costs and consumables are much less (no brake job for 100k+ miles). I'm also getting solar this month so I'll be completely carbon neutral. Of course most of my friends with Tesla's already have solar so they've seen tremendous benefits over their ownership period.

My electric bill has gone up about the same $60 a month too but I have solar so that definitely helps. But I’m paying at least $200+ per month to gas up my v8

you can buy an entire set of brake pads for $100 and change it in 1.5 hours. Sure no oil changes? Thats $40-50 every 9 months. Buying an electric car to justify saving money on maintenance doesnt seem very compelling. Sure in certain states where gas/electricaity is stupidly expensive. except here when gas is $2.15 regular and 9.5c a kWh
