Here's what's probably the best video I've seen on the Cybertruck yet. It shows the initial rollout, the crowd-reaction, and some durability-tests of the body panels on stage, similiar to what Saturn used to do at auto shows, 20 years ago, with the plastic-bodied S-series.
This is a concept vehicle, and a lot might be change when (or if) it becomes mass produced.
Agreed. I think they are going to eventually have to change that roofline.....although people are ordering it and putting deposits down on it just as it is.

Or the concept may never ever make it to production.

I can see it as a potential Big-Three/Toyota/Nissan competitor, but not with that styling. The massive low-RPM torque of the electric motor would make it an excellent work-machine, if they do, in fact, perfect that 500-mile range between recharges.

If we are going to call this a "work machine" I just don't see how this will hold up in harsh NE or Canadian winters, especially towing. Range goes bye bye when it's cold.

The car is built like a giant origami. They supposedly fold the metal into that shape to streamline manufacturing. Supposedly, the manufacturing will be extremely easy to build the car and it only comes in stainless steel. That is the car and the only thing they need to change is related to meeting safety regulations.
The 500 mile battery is already in prototype (roadster has it). It's just two of the latest gen batteries stacked on top of each other. What it does say about the truck being so cheap is that battery prices are coming waaaay down in the next 3 years. This will be a big win for Tesla as it will increase gross profit dramatically when they get to this scale.

correct, at least my truck doesnt loose nearly half its range when it gets cold
At first glance I thought this was the ugliest truck I had ever seen. Now after it has sunk in a little I think I’m warming up to it and kind of like it now especially for the price.
I'm still speechless on the design in a confused way. However, my friend who put most of his investment on Tesla said this truck is growing on him. He just ordered(reserved) the dual-motor AWD version today.
Do you really think a production version will have a range of 500miles/805km?
Maybe (?). It's a good-sized platform, and has room under the bed for a quite-large battery-pack. Of course, the 500 miles would (probably) be only under ideal conditions.......mild temperatures, light loads, good weather, and minimal electrical-draw.

In other words, useless above about Georgia/Tennessee in the winters.
