So, Google incognito mode is rather useless to Google as they thrive off your data. Google incognito is in effect what Apple is doing from the get-go. .
LexCTJill, do you have smart TVs or a roku, Apple TV, Amazon fire, etc.? Or even the cable system if you use that... they’re all monitoring everything you watch and collecting that data. Between that, card providers knowing all your purchases, and cell companies knowing your location at all times which you can’t turn off unless you’re in airplane mode (i think), data aggregators can paint a very accurate profile of you.

trying to fight it is pointless.
I don’t think you appreciate my comments. . My Apple phone blocks (you may dispute that if you like) where I am from Google services knowing what I am doing or driving to. So if or when I use You Tube, (Google site that I like) it has a hard time sending me information of what and where I have been.
It was crystal clear when I was retirement home shopping for a winter place using Google maps from my phone in May in Savannah G, when I returned to Toronto all we would see was Homes in the Savannah area. This is where I got the idea for this thread. Since I have stopped using maps, I see minimal ads and stuff geared towards me from locations where I have been. It kinda seems like You Tube is struggling to find relevant stuff to beam my way....I still get Survey Monkey ads all the time from something I had signed up for.
My next feat will be the Apple Credit card coming in the mail. It is US funds only, but if they help keep my data private, then adios to my regular bank cards.
No. I don’t have a Roku
No. I don’t have cable
Yes. I have three CC. But I almost never ever use them

I used to hate Apple maps when it came out. but in 2019, i often use it when i just need my maps to work. Lately, my Google maps has been wildly unreliable. telling me to to turn late, not syncing, lagging. I've been in some really frustrating situations lately doing circles and circles in cities because Google maps lagged out.
then i break out apple maps and it's just so intelligent precise accurate and fast. and smart. like i turn it on when I really can't be late or lose any time. but i still like google's overall flexibility and options..
it's pretty much like iphone vs. android. androids can technically do more but the iphone does what it can do in a more confident, polished, and mature way.
kind of frustrating the perfect app can't exist. so in short i use both.

Great post! I find the time and routing for the Apple Maps to be pretty good.
