I have tried to use my iPhone to play podcasts in my GX. The first time I tried this it worked but I haven't been able to do so since. It recognizes that the phone is plugged in but doesn't play the sound. Anyone have any idea why? I also don't know how to delete the previous user's device.

 

I had to get this firmware update to address some oddities playing music stored on my iPhone. It was installed at time of a navigation map software update. This has to be done at dealer.

Been there with an obvious answer that I missed

 

Since GX doesnt have Airplay, I see no use of the USB port with an iphone other then just charging it. The screen stay black with no info on it if I use my iphone with USB cable and I have to look at the phone for track/playlist as such. At least in bluetooth mode, you see all relevant info on your GX's screen.

 

Interesting... I get track and playlist info with iPhone and connected to USB. If nothing else you could put additional audio on a thumb drive and plug it in there.

What year GX? It could be a defective USB plug as well that is only sending power. I thought I remember someone have one of these go bad in another thread.
