I don't see any Cadillac hate, just disappointment. The CT6 chassis proves that Cadillac can indeed produce world class products. The new turbo V-8 indicates that they can produce world class powerplants. The disappointment is that in the critical crossover area, they turn out the mundane (at best) XT5 and XT6. Why did they not harness the greatness that was available instead of using a version of a Chevy platform and engine? Cadillac still has not created an interior that is on par with the rest of the CT6, but I'm sure they can. It just makes me kind of sad that they forgot about being "The Standard of the World".
When the comparison tests start with the XT6 and the Lincoln Aviator, it will be obvious that the emperor has no clothes. For the same price the Lincoln has almost 100 hp more, a much more luxurious interior. and more room.

If Cadillac made a sedan like the Lacrosse (which IMO they should have done when the DTS was dropped), I'd consider one. I found the CTS, though, too sport-oriented, the ATS WAY too sport-oriented (particularly in V-trim), the XTS poorly-executed and inadequate as a flagship, and the CT6 too loosely-built and firm-riding for my tastes.
Yeah, I know I'm picky LOL, but I don't buy something unless I know I can live with it.

Your memory is correct. I had an 2018 XT5 for 14 months then my dealer made me an offer to trade it in on a 2019 XT5. I said I would do the deal for a XT4 because the wife and I really wanted the smaller size and other features. I don't know why the dealer would do the deal other than to move inventory. There was nothing wrong with the XT5. It was a nice experience, just a little big for our needs. I'm a happy Cadillac owner after owning 2 Lexus RX's, a CT and a NX.

As far as I know, the XTS was built on the same platform as the last-generation Lacrosse, not the latest (2017-2019) version which I have. The XTS had a nice interior (especially compared to the former DTS), but, IMO, was awkward-looking outside, too firmly-sprung (the nice-riding DTS had a soft suspension and tall, high-profile tires which the XTS lacked), and the XTS sample I test-drove had a marked front-end shimmy that did not go away as the tires warmed up, and was not linked to tire/wheel balance....the factory later admitted it was a design-defect. The only improvements the XTS made over the DTS (besides the interior) was a more efficient 6-speed transmission (the DTS had the ancient 4-speed), and the AWD option for bad weather.
