One design style that i love is short front overhangs and this is just great... and the rwd platform gives the nice longer distance from front wheel to front door.

One thing about the Aviator is that it hasn't even been released yet, so it's obviously too early to compare it to the Range Rover's biggest problem............

FWD platform can also have a short distance from wheel well and doors but it needs to be designed like that from ground up and thus it kills any chance of making small cars on platform like that.
I think it's a great execution, but 400 HP is overkill for the base model. There's enough morons on the road that can't handle 270 HP in a Camry.
How's that 400 HP, though, any different from the same engine in the sister MKZ and Continental, which, in general, will have an even more conservative class of drivers? I do agree, though, that the 600 ft-lbs. of torque in the Hybrid version of the Aviator is absurd.

I disagree. At least Lincoln is doing something in that they are giving you a wonderful, powerful experience. What has Lexus done lately in their SUV engines? Oh right, they haven’t had a new engine since 2007

I guess that's my point. ...what is the point of 400 HP in an MKZ? That being said, the Z's 2.0L and hybrid options are great choices...RIP.

I don't think that you need to offer gobs of power in order to provide a luxurious ride that stands out. I'm not entirely saying that they shouldn't offer a potent version, though I do find it more pointless in this vehicle than the a vehicle such as the MKZ. I think that most drivers would be suited with a less potent option....one that doesn't consume as much oil....especially foreign oil.
To the mentioned of Lexus, I've spent quite a bit of time behind the wheel of the 400h. And I can't imagine that I would need more power than what is offered in that vehicle in an SUV...I mean, how many Lincoln Nautilus buyers I purchasing the vehicle for towing capabilities?
