Thumbs up Doug DeMuro's Bugatti Chiron review

this to me, is the best review ever, of the greatest automobile achievement ever.

i'm not a fan of all of his reviews, but this one shows his love of cars and appreciation of this rare and beautiful beast that probably no one on ClubLexus will ever drive, let alone own.

hat's off to Doug and the Chiron, wow.

i'm still surprised that this got a higher doug score than the 1990 LS 400

i do appreciate how bugatti went for a more timeless approach to the interior design by not cluttering it up with a bunch of screens that will eventually become dated. i wonder if the chiron is any easier to service (not that it really matters) than the veyron, which has 16 oil drain plugs, holds 18 quarts of like 10W-60 oil and costs the price of a corolla just to get it changed. it does literally take almost twice as long just to change the veyron's oil as it takes toyota to actually assemble the entire corolla, but over $20,000 for an oil change seems a little steep lol...

perhaps the smiley means you're joking but comparing a 30yr old 'affordable flagship luxury sedan' (wonderful and groundbreaking no doubt) to a $3mil 1500hp completely bespoke and timeless carbon fiber masterpiece seems a stretch.

Well since the engine cannot be accessed by owners any diy is out.

costs the price of a corolla just to get it (oil) changed.
This made me lol gotta pay to play. It also eats corollas for breakfast.

The only thing that Bugattis eat is dollars and fuel. Lots of both.

Guys like Doug have made shows like Top Gear pretty irrelevant. Great review and what an amazing automobile.

lol yes you correctly interpreted the smiley... of course the "doug score" is intended to favor a car's sportiness, not how well it relieves arthritis. i'm sure the LS would be rated much higher on something like the shuffleboard forums though.

while i will always remain a mclaren f1 guy, i love projects like the veyron or chiron which are just unapologetically over the top ridiculous and push the boundaries of what's currently possible. VW made a HUGE loss on every car sold, but in a way i really like that since it shows they set out to make the most amazing technical achievement possible, not just something designed to sell in large numbers. the world already has enough of that. actually to get back to the corolla for a second, it is also pretty impressive that instead of changing the oil on your veyron, it would literally be cheaper and quicker for toyota to build you an entire car lol...

Great review. I'm still amazed how he can talk non stop without taking a breath. I'm feeling light headed just watching him.

it's called editing. there's often a bunch of fairly subtle cuts but it seems like he just kept right on talking.

Obviously i will never able to afford one... i was thinking how about rear view when you back out/ back into a parking spot... or parallel parking. Don't scratch that thing!

it would be hard to not be paranoid if you owned one, but if you're simon cowell with probably a billion then you can always buy 2 to have a spare.

I enjoy his reviews, love how he focuses on quirks and features which most reviewers gloss over. I save many of his reviews and like to relax and watch them. He is on his war to being a bigger star then just youtube, he has already been on Leno's garage and mentioned in car mags.

The Chiron is as amazing as the Veyron, two of the most amazing modern automobiles ever

Rare yes, but beautiful ? Not the exterior by a long shot lol. Not to me anyway.
Interior is pretty nice, but almost not nice enough given the price of the car.
