I think the correct term for the 3 series look isn't old but bland/generic/recycled

Last week I was on the way to work and a new IS (non F Sport) appeared in my rear view mirror. A few minutes later, so did a newer 3 series in the adjacent lane, and then oddly enough, a C Class in the other adjacent lane (IS in the center). Looking at all three cars side by side in my rear view...the Mercedes and BMW look significantly older than the IS. Yes, the Merc certainly is long in the tooth and will be replaced soon, but the IS looked a lot more futuristic and cutting edge than even the BMW. It was a cool opportunity to compare the three cars visually side by side.

I have no issues with any of the styling in this class except the TL. The Q50 has taken a familar shape and I think its the best mix of curves they have done, much better executed than the M and better than the Altima, Maxima. Just my 2 cents. Most people who have commented thinks its a good looking car. Most people commenting the IS seem to focus on the face (love or hate) and it looks futuristic as someone else stated. The odd thing is the IS F-sport stock has gotten more comments and looks than the Q50 S. Its been interesting to drive it and talk to people about Infiniti, some really really interesting commentary.

I think the Q50 S might be best looking in this class. Sue me.

Every other luxury car in Atlanta or Miami is a leased G so this is quite ironic.

the issues with the G and now the Q50 were never about their design and tech, it's their thirsty powertrain that's lagging behind the competitions. with the new Q50, i see the same old 3.7 VQ underneath the hood, still heavy, still thirsty on fuel.

I willadmit as a previous owner of 4 cars with Nissans VQ I will admit they do get HORRIBLE gas mileage. I was lucky to get 20-21 hwy in my G35 and my wifes old 2011 Murano was the same way and was 8 years newer than the G35

To be fair, fuel economy on the Q50 has improved by 3 mpg and they've remapped the programming of the transmission and gearing a bit as well.

What looks exactly like last generation? The 3? Well it has the classic 3-series lines but I can quickly tell the new from the old. The new one actually looks longer and wider (a couple of times I mistook it for the 5). All in all. I think it looks better than the previous gen.

Road and Track magazine, in their latest sport-sedan comparo, also panned the feel of the Q's electronic steer-by wire system (with an emergency mechanical hookup if the system fails). Against the new ATS, IS-F, and BMW 3-series, the Q finished last.

I recently spent a day with a Q50S Hybrid. Nice luxury sport sedan, but the hybrid system like the one in the M35h er Q70.. is extrememly rough and nowhere near as refined as the one in the GS450h. It's night and day.

I've put nearly 2300 miles on a Q50S and honestly my review would be similar to the expert reviews. I could go in detail on why this car is selling so poorly out the gate. There is also no aftermarket support for it. Its like they went after a completely different buyer and not sure why they would do that when the G37 sold so well and was 60% of sales most of the time.

So how bad are the DAS and safety nannies in day to day driving?
