Infiniti Q50 thread
I must be looking at different photos than others, because that looks even UGLIER in real life photos than it did in the press promo pics.
Not feeling it at all. The 3IS blows this away in terms of both exterior, interior and features. Likely handling too.

In any event, IMO I think this car looks amazing and blows the new IS away in terms of looks. As far as performance is concerned however, let's just wait for the comparos and see how it fairs against the IS, 3, etc.

But I agree with the others....looks badass and looks WAY better than the new IS front end, which I saw at Toyotafest in Long Beach. Paddles on the column are another big win over the Lexus.
OMFG, out of left field but so true, lol. I'll hate you forever if this comes to mind every time I see one though

BTW, every time I see a picture of the new IS, I just think of Arnie . . . . .
"You're one ugly mother****er . . . ."
This is the best example of how two LCD could be unnecessary.
Seems like Nav screen is still below eye level when seated and its not pushed back at all unlike in GS and RLX.so there is not point for two LCDs, why not make it a one big LCD instead?
Reason why Lexus went with the mouse is because they made Nav Screen to be on the same eyelevel as the road which is ergonomics 101 when you have to pay attention to something else while paying attention to the road at the same time. I still prefer touchscreens as method of input but prefer Navigation placement of GS so there has to be a compromise somewhere down the line but Q50 is not it yet while RLX is in a tad bit better situation. In next couple of iterations of dual LCDs we might see a good breakthrough in terms of design

IMO:
Damn this new Infiniti Q50 looks so damn nice.
Looks x1000 times better than the new IS (and it has better design consistency too).
And finally headlights that are sensible (unlike the mess that's in the 3IS)

The exterior designer of this new 3IS NEEDS to see an optometrist

If it had an "L" on the grille, I bet your opinion would be completely different

I also prefer the looks so far of the G37 err Q50 to the IS but I've yet to see either in person. I also really like the Maxima/Altima and the Q50 shares the overall look. The IS is love/hate with me, the front is so futuristic and unlike anything we have seen but sometimes I just don't like it.
S2000toIS350,
The car is too lame for you to take a picture and post?
I don't blame you, I only take pics of cars that are $million+ now. When I see the LaFerrari for the 1st time, I might take a pic

These days, every entry level car has an ugly humanoid face.
But no matter how ugly you think a car looks initially, you get desensitized after seeing it a hundred times.
I used to think the new 3 series had ugly face. But now with the right bumper, I think "eh, whatever. I can live with it".

As a fan of Inifiniti and a previous owner of 2 G35 sedans I am not feeling this new naming system. Its confusing as hell. Thanks to the other members who explained it all to me. So this is essentially the new G37 with a new name. I am happy that they tweaked the styling. The old G lines were getting a bit stale and lobular. I like the more muscular look of the new Q more.
