Sens4Miles, you could have debated blueprint's post points without being sarcastic and condescending. don't repeat such inflammatory style posts.

so basically this is like up to $4k more expensive than IS350? As long as you select the options which are not mentioned in PR?

interesting.

I wonder if the Hybrid will be worth the $3,150 mark up. Have they released mpg numbers or HP/TQ numbers yet?

36 mpg hwy... it will probably get 20% less MPG than GS450h, as M35h got 30% lesser mpg.

maybe they managed to make it smoother? it M35h got rated dead bottom in all comparos against GS450h and 5AH

The pricing comparison is bit vague using their build your own tool.

For a loaded AWD S version (no spare tire as the Hybrid can't have one), the price difference for the Hybrid is about $1800.

I believe they revised the HP quote to 360 for the Hybrid and the ICE 3.7 is 328.

The torque figure should be interesting. If the gas and electric motors ever run together at full throttle, you could be at 450. As a reference the BMW 3 series hybrid has 306 HP and max torque of 400 and does 0 to 60 in 5.3 sec (RWD only)

I met a pro driver at the 2 Q50 dealership intro sessions I went to. He drove the sales folks around at a track event this spring in Texas and he said you can easily expect the AWD hybrid to do 0 to 60 in under 5 sec.

'worth' is subjective. on the basis of fuel economy, no hybrid is worth it unless you drive a ZILLION miles a year and don't mind the trade-offs (small trunks, gutless prius, etc). but well done hybrid drivetrains like gs450h and ls600hL provide other benefits of quiet/smooth and mid-range power boost.

I like this car - it looks great on the outside, seems to be a nice size, and the hybrid model sounds great. As Mike mentioned, once it's on dealer lots, I am sure that pricing will be very aggressive as well.

With that said, the overall design of the interior looks to be about a decade old. Infiniti has been using the same general shapes for years, and they're pretty generic at this point. With competitors all focusing on a clear-cut identity in the cockpit, I would have liked to see Infiniti do more here, because as-is, the overall interior design is pretty disappointing.

Similarly, I know that the G25 was a lame duck in the last generation, but Infiniti is going to need a 4cyl turbo model to compete squarely with Audi and BMW. This is a consideration in the states, but even more important elsewhere in the world. They have a spot in the lineup for such a car to be priced around $33-34k. I think this would go a long way for the brand.

Last but not least, it's time to overhaul the 3.7L V6 and stop trying to squeeze more and more power out of what they've got. I've driven a few G37s and M37s, and when you hustle the car, that engine does get a bit coarse and begins to show its age. Similarly, MPG is not particularly impressive and well behind the competition.

Overall, I think Infiniti hit a double with this car. They did enough to get squarely on base, but are well short of a home run. New powertrains and a more forward-thinking interior would have gone a long way for a car that will be on the road for the next 6+ years.

This looks stunning.........and I can't believe I'm saying this much for an Infiniti =)

I wonder if this will be called a "Skyline" in Japan.........or will they wait for Infiniti to launch there?

Car looks awesome but it also a tad smaller then the M37, this is not a 3 or IS competitor with an M37 size

One of the guys on a Q50 forum snuck into a sales training session and the target competition is the 3 series, A4, IS and the TL

The secondary competitors are the C class, ES and ATS

The target market is a 35 year old married guy with at least one college degree with no kids, household income of $120k

I am kind of surprised that the C class would be a secondary competitor as I tend to lump the 3, A4 and C class as interchangeable (except for no RWD A4)

I meant to ask what was the mpg for the non-hybrid model.

I have been watching videos on the car and it looks amazing, the tech is top notch and very advanced, it will handle like an Infiniti, and it is available in a hybrid that can give 36 mpg while still offering around 340-350 hp. Thats a killer combo and a recipe that could take me away from the Lexus family to be honest.

Which is funny because of the comparison to the GS and 5 series(Not sure if that was in the video posted here). Goes along with what Blueprint was saying can't go off one source.
