so I see it the other way, which is the opportunity to blend better drive and handling than an SUV with more utility and capability than the equivalent sedan. I’ve always loved wagons, or estates as you and I would otherwise call them, and regret that the US market doesn’t really embrace them the way other markets do. First car I ever bought new was a wagon, and I expect I’ll have one again.
that's exactly why these are the stupidest vehicles on sale today
you get SUV handling with sedan practicality lol... and i'm not even getting into the terrible visibility or bloated hideous design
Yeah, I don't get these either. That sloping rear roof kills any functionality.
they also look nothing like an actual coupe! insurance tends to be higher for them too... i genuinely can't think of a single reason to get an X6 over an X5
I... kind... of... like... them . Yeah, the utility sucks but at least they're "different" than the bread and butter SUVs/CUVc.
it would also be "different" to use square wheels but there's several reasons nobody does
i'm all for individual expression and creativity but for me to get behind an idea i need to see some upsides or benefits... with these 'SUV coupes' you truly just get the worst of both worlds
I searched and didn’t see a recent thread. Here we discuss WAGONS ONLY. Post yours up to if you have one.
BMW Performance Center just posted these
You know I'm going to be the one to say this but the BMW wagons have always had my heart. If the F11 iteration of the 5-Series touring were available here in the US I would've been in it in a heartbeat. It is a thing of beauty!!
As far as I'm concerned the way BMW is moving in their styling (Neue Klasse or whatever) they're just downright hideous! That back end has nothing to show for itself. Too much body and not enough lights. It may look better in black but I think it looks too clunky for my taste. JMHO!
