Don't get me wrong, I get it...its not what I would buy for myself either but for an upscale family hauler its a great vehicle. I just wish the PHEV wasn't so expensive...the hybrid masks the 4 cyl pretty well..I wouldn't get a straight gas 4 cyl TX350.

Its really between this and a GLS450. The GLS leasewise is actually very similar, but I know she is going to want the PHEV. If she likes the GLS and is willing I'll go with that.
Appreciate your wife going with what she actually likes and not getting influenced by the badge to sway her decision.

Was having a conversation with one of my employees last week, his wife just had twins, so they need a bigger car. He is not a car guy at all, and does not know much about cars, engines. He is currently driving a VW Atlas, so he was saying he is going to buy the retro looking VW van. He had no idea the van is the ID Buzz, which is electric, so it was a bummer when I broke the news for him. He lives in an apt building and parks on the street, so an EV is not an option for him at all. I told him to look at the Pacifica, I think with the V6 it's much nicer than Sienna, although the Sienna probably returns much better fuel economy.

It's so annoying how the numeric denominations don't mean anything anymore, and a 450 could be a 4, 6, or an 8, and then manufacturer's go out of their way to bury the engine type on the website.

Yeah she doesn't care about things like that, in fact she would rather have a mainstream badged car.

They should absolutely get a van. The minivan was a lifesaver for us, makes like with twins so much easier for my wife to load them by herself too. Powertrain is much nicer in the Pacifica, but the Sienna is also very nice, big inside and rides great.

He actually doesn't care much for the drivetrain, he's not a car guy. He is going to be price conscious, and space efficiency/ride. Since you've chosen the Pacifica over the Sienna and the Odyssey, I assume there were good reasons for it? If you were to chose between these three today, would you stick with the Pacifica?

The Pacificas are more “upscale”, if you get the Pinnacle trim like we have. The Odyssey is old and they haven’t kept up with tech the way Chrysler has, so to me it would be between the Pacifica and the Sienna. I prefer the V6 in the Pacifica but the Sienna would be longer term more reliable. Pacifica also has tons of trunk money where Siennas are an MSRP proposition still because of Toyotas “barely build enough of them” mentality. Sienna is a sea of shitty plastic inside.

I would probably stick with the Paciifca
