It is nice that they don't haggle you but gosh Carmax prices are high.
You're not leasing? Or does Carmax do it?
I wouldn't buy one from Carmax, just a good place to go to get to look at a bunch of different cars. If we got a used GLS we would get one certified from MB. If we got used we'd have to buy it.
If we got the TX we would have to buy it even if it were new. The lease at $1,350 makes no sense.
Maybe you might like owning the car??? You get attached to them--I know you like the newest, so IDK at the same timel.
That is an EXTREMELY good idea to go look at cars, I have never ever thought of that.
I've owned cars in my life, there is an appeal there but not particularly a desire of mine no. I would want to replace it after a few years, and honestly I have leased for so long I don't feel like its not my car etc. Every car I have leased also the lease buyout was a decent deal and I could have easily kept them but chose not to. The only thing that makes me think about buying a car to own for longer is every time we replace a car the new one is considerably more expensive.
Yeah Carmax is great for that, I go over there once a month or so and just spend an hour or so on the lot and check cars out. Its one of the ways I know so much about a wide variety of cars. I don't test drive them because that wastes someone's time so when I want to test drive something its something I have actual interest in. Never have to interact with anyone either, just walk in and out the door to the lot, no issues.
respect this. even dislikable salespeople have to make a living and wasting their time is a terrible thing to do in a very competitive field.
Totally agree here. When I bought my IS 500 it had to be my sales guy easiest sale all year. I didn't waste anyone's time. I hate wasting people's time in general.
When I send them a text/email now about test driving a GX 550 he gets back to me instantly.
I use to love Tesla for the no pressure sales model, but these days especially if they have marching orders for a quarter end goal, the folks there seem to be starting to albeit gentler, pulling the same tactics as car dealers before and after the test drive thankfully.
That is such a damn good idea. Do you still have to get them to open up all the cars?
In other news I had a day-long urge to start looking for a 2020 Escalade (last year of the previous gen) but my spouse won't let me get rid of the LX lol.

I still sorta want one but ehh reliability.
I am in FL and saw a dark green Escalade V yesterday. Not a color I personally would buy but it looked incredible in the sun. So many nice cars down here.

Isn't it cool how stealth they are? Beyond the one or two badges and different looking (and sounding lol) exhaust, that's it.

Only a person into cars would know the difference. I’m luke warm on the square exhaust tips on pretty much any car but I wouldn’t care about it with that engine. I rarely see Escalade V’s, maybe 3-4 for me ever.
