I was planning on a nice 3am insomnia drive but I caught an issue on the pre-drive pressure check. The 4.0TTs rear right tire has spontaneously a sidewall bulge, no idea when it happened as it hasn't been out for about a week and change due to weather and it was not there last wash/when I put the car away last.
Took another car instead but now I'm wondering wtf I'm supposed to do as even if Michelin covers a new tire it's going to be out of spec with the other 3.
No damage visible so I have no idea what happened here I know the barrel is dirty, it's winter and I'm not going to freeze trying to scrub everything. Sue me lol!
I could transfer the silver W12s tires to this car as they are practically new (under 10k miles and still have the little rubber whiskers) but that would still require me to get a replacement set. I was joking that I would stop using PSASs on that one as it doesn't see snow so this might be life mocking me

I believe tirerack offer a shaving service. Other option would be to get a used tire that matches. I've bought used ones from champtires.com multiple times and never had any issues.
Same thing about Golf Carts. I live in a golf cart community and now we have these 30+ mph golf carts licensed for the street. Nice, but they don't have upgraded brakes and can't handle in case of accident avoidance!
Brakes are always the last thing that anybody thinks about. Add 300hp, put on 24" wheels, keep the factory single piston calipers and 12" rotors. What could possibly go wrong?

Im the boring person who usually does tires and brakes first haha!
Regenerative brakes for the win! My car is done, 21k miles and I have 10 Mm left on the front brakes and 8 on the rear (Distronic uses the rear brakes so rears always go first on a Mercedes). On my S560 I needed brakes all around at 30k miles.
Still really impressed with this E350. We’ll see how I feel when I get back in the S580

It bewilders me why they use the rears so heavily vs just using all 4 more evenly lol!
When I first got my 4.0 I thought the rears were sticking because they had so much more dust on them during my first trip. The logic I guess is that the rear pads are cheaper and faster to replace than fronts but it's still odd IMO
